This is the worst Four Seasons we’ve ever stayed at. We had asked for an early checkin, which I understand isn’t always possible. However, when hotels say that they ensure checkin by 4pm, one would hope that they actually deliver on this, especially given the price. We are a family of 6 and hadn’t received the key to both rooms well past 4pm. No apology, no sense of fault. Nothing. The people at the front desk are absolutely uncaring which is so sad to see for a resort that usually has a great reputation. I suspect that it is this particular management at this Maui resort that has created this culture of sloppiness. We should have looked at the reviews before we booked, I guess, because there seem to be tons of other negative reviews. We will never again stay here and I hope others get some value from this review.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an exceptional stay at the Four Seasons Resort Maui. We stayed on one of the newly renovated floors, and the design and decor were absolutely impeccable—elegant, modern, and beautifully executed. Access to the Club Lounge made the experience even more special, with excellent amenities and service throughout our stay. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome and cared for, creating truly unforgettable memories. Without a doubt, this was a spectacular family vacation, and we look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended! 🌺✨🏝️

I booked 8 nights at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea using a combination of points and cash. When I asked to shorten my stay by a single night, I was bounced between the hotel and Chase with no resolution. The hotel claimed my reservation carried an "8-day minimum" — a requirement I've never encountered in years of booking hotels, and one that was never disclosed when I made the reservation. They also refused to rebook me into a comparable room, saying only suites were available. The end result: dropping one night was treated as impossible, locking me into a longer and more expensive stay than I actually need. For a brand that markets itself on service and flexibility, this rigidity and the lack of any clear, disclosed policy was disappointing. I'd encourage anyone booking on points and cash here to confirm cancellation and modification terms in writing up front. This is very off-brand for Four Seasons - which makes me question management. Chase Sapphire has also filed an investigation into this issue -- the person I spoke to even admitted that the managers at this location were behaving in a way that is not representative of the Four Seasons brand. Given my experience, sadly, I am not looking forward to this vacation...

I was really looking forward to a relaxing getaway, but this place was a huge letdown for the price. The service felt very impersonal and cold, and I had several issues with my room that were never properly resolved despite asking multiple times. Everything from the dining to the amenities felt overrated and not worth the stress I had dealing with the staff. I definitely would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a high-quality experience.

They filmed the first season of The White Lotus here. I knew that going in — figured it'd be a fun little flex, something to drop at dinner. What I did NOT expect was the resort committing to the bit. Because if you've seen the show, the whole premise is beautiful people having a quietly catastrophic time at a stunning resort where management is somehow always the actual problem. Reader: I lived it. On my birthday. The theme song should've been playing the whole time. Let's start there, since this was a birthday trip — the one occasion a year you'd assume a Four Seasons, the brand whose entire religion is "you should never have to ask," would just silently handle the details. Instead: check-in was extremely late. Fine, okay, I'm not going to torch the place over a slow front desk on its own. But THEN they put us in a room overlooking an active construction site. And the construction clocked in at 7am. Every. Single. Morning. Nothing says "happy birthday, valued guest" quite like a complimentary jackhammer alarm clock you didn't order and cannot snooze. I keep picturing whoever runs the room map looking at the one assignment that comes with a live demolition zone outside the window and going, "yeah — the birthday guy, give him that one." And before anyone tells me I'm being dramatic: they already KNEW. They knew about the noise. I know they knew because they apologized for it afterward, in writing, unprompted. So this wasn't a surprise to anyone except the guy paying Four Seasons rates specifically so he wouldn't have to be surprised. Now the gym, which deserves its own paragraph and arguably its own incident report. It is so hot in there it is borderline unusable. Not "a touch warm." Not "they forgot to crank the AC." Genuinely-cannot-train, shirt-stuck-to-your-back hot. And I want to be precise about how damning this is, because it's kind of my thing: I have used Four Seasons gyms all over the world, and this one is — hand on heart — the WORST I have ever set foot in. Dead last. Bottom of a very long list. How a property operating at this altitude lets a core amenity rot to that point and then just… shrugs at it, I will genuinely never understand. Here's my actual problem with the whole thing. The staff were great. Disarmingly great. Warm, switched-on, the kind of people who make you feel like a jerk for being annoyed because you can tell THEY would've fixed every bit of this in a heartbeat if anyone above them had let them. (I'd poach half of them on the spot.) But the people stop being the product the moment management keeps whiffing the basics — where you put a guest, the noise you already apologized for in advance, an amenity that flat-out does not work. That's the front-of-house doing five-star work to cover for a back-of-house that didn't bother to show up. And let me say something directly to my own people — the Lifetime Titaniums, the Ambassadors, anyone who lives and dies by their Marriott number and was eyeing this place as a points-be-damned splurge. Four Seasons doesn't even HAVE a loyalty program. No status to flash, no rewards line, no recognition, nothing — and that's fine, that's their whole model, you're paying for the name. But here's the stat that should stop you cold: I also stayed at the Ritz-Carlton up the coast on this same island, and that property had an actual, literal, lights-out POWER OUTAGE during my stay… and it was still a better experience than this place was on a normal day with the power fully on. Read that again. Four Seasons Wailea lost — to a Ritz in the middle of a blackout. So if you're a Marriott person debating whether to go off-brand for the splurge: don't. You're better off staying at the Ritz on this island, and that's me saying it after I gave the Ritz one star too. At normal-hotel money this is a bad week. At Four Seasons money, on a birthday, in the literal White Lotus hotel, it's not a miss — it's a choice somebody made. Several somebodies. The cast was lovely. The writing was tragic. One star, and I mean it with the full White Lotus theme playing behind me.

Where are 10 starts when you need them!😃 The service here is extraordinary and the attention to smallest of detail is exceptional. Loved our stay here and the resort along with the facilities were amazing as well. Highly recommend staying here.

Booked Four Seasons Maui through Amex FHR. We arrived around 12 PM and had requested early check-in months ahead. I understand early check-in is subject to availability, but the room was not ready even by the hotel’s guaranteed 4 PM check-in time. Due to the extremely long front desk queue, we only received the key around 4:23 PM. After entering the room, we found 10+ bugs 🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳 in and around the room. Even after additional cleaning, bugs were still present, including near the door area, and we had to move rooms late in the evening. The overall property experience was also disappointing. The resort feels dated, many areas are fully outdoor with no AC, and the property felt very crowded. Check-in had a very long line, the pool and facilities were busy, and during one meal, bird droppings landed directly on our table. For a Four Seasons property at this price point, this was unacceptable. Management later acknowledged the issues and provided a reasonable resolution, so I am updating this review to 2 stars. The resolution was appreciated, but the stay experience itself was very poor.

Never have my wife and I felt so cared for a hotel before. Every member of the staff from the housekeeping, to the front desk, to the concierge, seemed genuinely invested in that we had a great time. The restaurants were phenomenal, the pool is beautiful, and everyone was so friendly The Four Seasons in Maui has essentially ruined all other hotels for us

I celebrated my birthday in May 2026 along with my sister. This resort was absolutely amazing. I frequently stay at the Four Seasons in different locations but Maui was the first time and they did not disappoint! From the start of the trip with the car service, the warm welcome upon arrival and the professionalism, kindness and support continued through departure. Thank you to everyone who made me feel so special and I will return next year. I couldn't remember everyone name but all were amazing Chris (Guest Relations), Gi,Gi, Sharon and all (club house), Alexa (Spa), Richie (chauffeur), Victor (at the ocean side), again to everyone... THANK YOU!
