Dined at King Brasseire only because my hotel stay included credits that I could use on food and beverage… I had a $45 breakfast credit in this restaurant each morning, but with their insane prices at the King Brasseire, how can two people eat on that? Made the mistake of ordering the steak and eggs, I ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. The waitress then needed to take my whole plate away from me “as evidence” to bring to the kitchen. And when they brought me a new steak, it was missing everything else on the plate, including the hollandaise sauce on the meat, and it was still overcooked. It would’ve been better if the prices actually matched the portion sizes. But we left still hungry every morning. We also had a $100 hotel credit that we used for dinner in the same restaurant. $16 for a cup of French onion soup? I was told these are professionally trained chefs, so why did it taste no different or better than Campbell’s? The bread served with the steak tartare, could actually break one of your teeth. Gulf Fish Amandine was dry. Lobster Bouillabaisse had exactly one small chewy piece of lobster in it. Also, none of their “entrées“ are served with sides. And just like breakfast, incredibly small portions. $200 later, we left hungry. And we are NOT big people lol. Just average 30somethings, with completely normal BMI’s lol. I have no idea how this restaurant has so many good reviews….. Frank, the bartender/server, was wonderful! Everyone else was unimpressive It just shows, a high price tag doesn’t always mean high quality. You live and learn. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I stayed at Hotel Fontenot and had dining credits to use during my stay. A majority of my meals came from King’s and let me tell you, it was good stuff. The pictures are from Dinner, which I would highly recommend. The drinks were made well; I would recommend the Sidecar and the King pictured below. The Roasted Beets were a fresh and bright appetizer to start the meal. The Louisiana Blue Crab Cake tasted fresh and light. Wasn’t too fishy which I appreciated since I’m not 100% a seafood fan. The dessert was recommended by the waitress and was also very good, however it was my least favorite amongst everything else I had for dinner (drinks included). I also ate a lot of Brunch, however I don’t have pictures as I did most as takeout to my room. I highly recommend the following options: Avocado Toast, Steak & Eggs, Crawfish Beignets, and the Chocolate Praline Bread Pudding WITH Ice cream (it seemed like homemade ice cream). The staff were kind and friendly. I will say the Dinner staff seemed more lively than Brunch staff, but the service never suffered because of it. I highly recommend if you’re staying at the Hotel to enjoy this for at least one night. If you’re not a guest at the Hotel, I’d still recommend it for the food.
