My wife and I recently stayed at the Renaissance Battle House Hotel in Mobile for a two-night stay. While there were several things we enjoyed, we unfortunately experienced enough issues during our visit to make the overall stay disappointing. Let me start with the positives. The valet service was excellent throughout our stay—very prompt, professional, and attentive. We were also very pleased with the dining experience. The food and service were both outstanding and met the expectations you would have for a hotel of this caliber. Unfortunately, our room experience was a different story. When we arrived in our king room, we discovered that the window seal was leaking water into the room due to a storm that was passing through. This wasn’t just a minor drip—it was a considerable amount of water, enough that we had to use towels to soak it up. We contacted the front desk, and maintenance promptly came up and applied sealant around the window. Unfortunately, the repair did not stop the leak, and water continued coming in throughout the night. The front desk offered to move us to another room, but no king rooms were available. The alternatives offered were a Murphy bed room or a room with two queen beds. Since we had already settled in and felt we could manage the situation, we chose to remain in the room. During that conversation, we were told that the room would be comped because of the inconvenience. However, when it was time to check out, there was no adjustment reflected on our bill. I had to call the front desk to inquire about it. At that point, a manager informed me they would only take $50 off the room. When I asked why that differed from what I had originally been told, I was informed that because we declined the room change options, they decided to only offer a $50 discount. That condition was never communicated to me when we made the decision to stay in the room. Had that been their position, it should have been clearly explained at the time rather than after checkout. The inconsistency between what was promised and what was ultimately done was frustrating and left a poor impression. Another issue occurred shortly after we arrived. I went to purchase drinks from the vending area on our floor and found every selection I tried was out of stock. I checked multiple other floors and ultimately had to visit four different floors before finding a machine with available drinks. Considering this was heading into a weekend—typically one of the hotel’s busiest times—I was surprised the vending areas were not better stocked. To their credit, when I informed the front desk, they responded quickly and sent complimentary drinks to our room. The following day, my wife and I left early in the morning and did not return until around 6:00 PM. When we came back, our room had not been serviced. After I called the front desk, someone was sent up. They replaced the towels, restocked the water and toiletries, and pulled the bedcovers up. However, the room appeared to have been cleaned very hastily. The bed was not properly straightened, no surfaces appeared to have been wiped down, and the bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped. It was disappointing to encounter this many issues during a single stay at a hotel with the Battle House’s reputation. With the exception of the confusion surrounding the room compensation, I will say that the staff was generally attentive and responsive whenever concerns were brought to their attention. I’m not saying we won’t stay at the Battle House again. There were certainly aspects of our visit that we enjoyed, particularly the valet service and dining experience. However, this stay fell well below our expectations, and it was disappointing to experience so many problems during a two-night visit.

BEAUTIFUL hotel and every aspect of service was wonderful (valet, front desk, room/food service, housekeeping, and even engineering). Clean, comfortable, everything was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will absolutely be back
Wow! Best all-around experience I've ever had at a hotel. Knowledgeable staff that was helpful & eager to interact. Valet parking was easy. The event was perfect from the set up of the room, the food, the service... one server in particular (Graciela) was friendly and very attentive. One suggestion-I wish the room had a microwave. We will definitely return!
Graet place for a family wedding
