Courtyard by Marriott Springfield Downtown

I had reservations to stay for 2 days, one night at this location. Once I arrived and attempted to check in through the Bonvoy app, my reservation disappeared. I went inside to check in only to be told that they had an issue with some rooms and that they were now overbooked. I was being sent to another hotel since they could not accommodate me. The woman at the check in desk was not very nice and replied that they had emailed me about the change. Mind you, the email was sent to me less than 2 hours before I was scheduled to check in AND I was driving to that location. Why not call me? I understand that issues happen, but to treat me like I was the issue for not reading my email while I was driving and not being happy that I had to go elsewhere is a customer service issue. They booked me at a non-Marriott hotel, they were going to cover the hotel that I was being moved to, however, I had no choice to where I was staying, and the cost of the new hotel room was $100 cheaper per night despite no refund in cost being given. I did notify my company travel agency so that may change.

All ice machines were out of order, singular water fountain was not working. I only had cleaning done to my room 1 of the 5 days I stayed, so I had a pile of towels in the bathroom all week and trash in the tiny can in my room. There was a q-tip on the floor when I first arrived in my room.

For nearly $200/ night (after taxes and fees), it is reasonable to expect the place to be very clean and at least offer complimentary breakfast. No breakfast included, no free coffee bar, pool was closed, ice machine out of order on our floor, there were hairs (that weren't ours) stuck to the shower wall, the AC unit was dusty, the faucet handle wasn't properly affixed to the shower wall, the toilet kept filling intermittently for our entire stay, lotion bottle in bathroom was already open/ used, the doors make a *loud* noise when they close, and you can hear the TV and talking of the people next door through the wall. Oh, and when you arrive road-weary and thirsty to your nearly $200/night room you can crack open a refreshing bottle of water if you want to spend *another* $5- ridiculous.

Very nice hotel, with updated rooms. I was there for a week for meetings and had no issues. If you are a light sleeper though do not stay on the end rooms by the tracks. The bar was also very good for drinks and lunch. Just down the street is a amazing coffee place. Scouts coffeee.

The staff is helpful, professional and personable. The rooms are nice and clean. We stayed on the 6th floor which is where the sweets are two nice spacious rooms with a king bed, mini fridge and pull out couch and two tvs. They also have lovely dining. mela urban Bistro. I love the location. Hands down best hotel in Springfield Ohio.

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel smelled wonderful and was very quiet. Staff was very kind too. A+
