Icon is a small, divey bar on Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa and the city's main openly queer bar. Locals describe it bluntly: basic room, not polished, but it's what the town has. It's the centre of the local drag scene, and show nights are the best time to go. Our listing has it open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only. The crowd includes plenty of University of Alabama students, so it's busier during term. Check its social media for drag show times before going. Alabama is a conservative state, so the usual common sense applies when leaving late at night.

The DJ absolutely sucks and plays the worst music with no song requests. The music is so Taylor swift (in the worst way). I wouldn’t go here again 1/10.
