Fringe World is Perth's month-long open-access arts festival, run by Artrage every summer since a pilot in 2011. It isn't an LGBTQ event. It's a mainstream fringe festival, and because any act can register, there's always a solid queer slice of drag, cabaret and stand-up spread through a programme of about 600 shows.
You buy tickets show by show. The main hubs are the Pleasure Garden in Russell Square and the Perth Cultural Centre in Northbridge, and the queer shows sit in the same programme as everything else. There's no separate queer strand, so use the search filters and read the show blurbs. In 2026 the queer picks included Golden Gay Time, a queer stand-up line-up; Adore Handel's camp cabaret; and Elixir Revived, which mixes circus with raunch.
The 2026 festival ran 21 January to 15 February, with 607 shows. Fringe World has announced 20 January to 14 February 2027 for its next edition. We couldn't find any separate attendance figure for the queer shows.
