Federico García Lorca Plaketi (Hotel Continental)

We visited for our honeymoon! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the hotel preserves its history beautifully. I think the day we spent here will be remembered as a time of lasting happiness. Thank you so much for giving us such wonderful memories!! The room exuded an elegance that made me feel like a noble from a prestigious European family. The bathroom was also very spacious; lying in the bathtub and gazing at the sky outside the window made everything for the day feel happy.

Great location and lovely people....The hotel itself needs a lot of care and maintenance to bring it up to par.

I've stayed in hotels in many different countries, but this is the first time I've experienced something like this, in a bad way. We fell in love with the photos of the suite and booked this hotel specifically to stay in it. However, upon checking in and entering our room, we found it was a completely different, ordinary room, nothing like the suite we had booked. The room was half the size of the one we booked, lacked a bathtub, and didn't even have a nice fireplace, yet we were charged the full price. It was so terrible that we protested to the staff, and they offered a 20% refund. We were exhausted from a flight of over 12 hours, and finding another hotel from scratch would have been a hassle. We also wanted to rest, so we reluctantly accepted. We booked three months in advance, so they should have known about the overbooking beforehand. Furthermore, be aware that they won't offer a refund unless you specifically complain. The bathroom also smelled of sewage, and there were frequent noises in the room. There are no amenities other than towels, so you need to bring your own. If you're particular, bring shampoo and conditioner as well. My first trip to Barcelona, ​​Spain, started off terribly on day one. I understand the reception staff weren't at fault and were quite nice, but one day of my limited trip was ruined, so I'm giving it one star. The first two photos are of the suite we booked. The hotel has a fantastic location, but that's about it! It wasn't at all like it appeared in the pictures. -The rooms are very small and don't smell very nice. -The food was a complete disaster! We had breakfast included, but we mostly went out for brunch. -As soon as the lights were off in the room, the power outlets stopped working for charging our phones. And so on and so forth... I definitely wouldn't recommend it at this price 👎🏼

When we saw the photos of the lounge with its stunning decorations and the rooms with their romantic, French-style touch, we wanted to have that experience. However, we couldn't get the best room with a balcony for the dates we went. Nevertheless, the bed was very comfortable. The 24-hour buffet is a very tempting option when booking, but I must admit there were some issues with the quality and expiration dates of some of the items served. The first receptionist who greeted us wasn't very friendly. And to my surprise, they "froze" €152 on my card, which I thought was the payment for the night, but I didn't have to pay again at the hotel. Despite that, they refunded me. The hotel is in a strategic location in the city center, surrounded by clothing stores, bars, restaurants, and cafes. It's very nice, but it lacks background music that matches the hotel's style in the lounge, and the buffet food could be fresher. And if it's not too much to ask, a little more friendliness at reception.

A lavish, retro-style hotel. Great location. A 24-hour buffet is available for guests (including alcoholic beverages). Food and drinks can be taken to your room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. A disappointing hotel. I booked a double room and they gave me a single. They didn't offer me any alternatives or solutions. I've never had an experience like this before. It was awful. The room was like a sardine can. Just a bed with no chair or space to move around. The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets were pilled, and the pillows were like rocks. I wouldn't go back even if it were free.

The hotel is very well located, a real gem. For those who appreciate antiques, it's like a beautiful museum. The staff is excellent, the 24-hour food bar is fantastic, the ice cream machine is great, and the room has a lovely view. Outside the hotel, you'll find many points of interest nearby, as well as restaurants and shops of all kinds.
