The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit

Some of the best service I’ve seen across Marriotts, as a member who stays half the year in hotels. Incredible.

No service at all. Garbage left from previous people. Asked 4 times for bath robes. Wrong amount charged at check in. Awful parking experience

You never can go wrong with the Western!

The hotel is ideally located and offers great comfort. The rooms are spacious and relaxing. The breakfast is good, although the dining room lacks a bit of character. The staff is professional and very helpful.

This is my favorite place to stay when I’m in Detroit, which is often for work. The only issue is valet…. They don’t staff it well and it takes way too long for the expected charge. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable. I love how the design nods to the building’s history while still feeling modern. One small thing others may not mention but frequent travelers will appreciate: the HVAC actually works. The AC gets stone cold when you want it to. The staff is genuinely warm too. They’re polite, fun to talk to, and even when execution isn’t always flawless their recovery is excellent. Recovery done well is rarer and more valuable than perfection, and they clearly have it down. The gym and pool are clean and well sized. There are some negative reviews about the valet, but I’ve stayed here many times without an issue, and in a location this walkable. The walkability is a highlight that makes it easy to reach most of downtown without needing the car. Why stay downtown if you aren’t going to enjoy walking to many of the great small businesses around? Go to the burbs for that. L. The in room dining is fantastic as well, so kudos to the chefs. Get the salmon and brussel sprouts. The in room dining is a fantastic value given how well it’s prepared. Update: every dish from here has been fantastic. Don’t be afraid to try something different.

AC systems outdated

This hotel is top notch. I also enjoy how Marriott treats everyone like they are VIP at this place. Caution -The VALET service is terrible! I was attending an event and stayed overnight. I give them grace at the event, btw I arrived an hour before the start of the evening and I had a 10 minute wait for someone to acknowledge that I was sitting in the lane for valet. Then the next day, I checked out an hour and half ahead of check out time, I was told that it would be a 10-15 minute wait, well it turned into a circus and close to a 45 minute wait. Unprepared and not organized. There's no rhythm in dropping off/unloading or returning cars. A disastrous end to a beautiful room and an amazing party!

The valet is horrible. You can pay by phone but still doesn't trigger to get vehicle. Prior to check out wait time excess of 30 minutes to get vehicle.

This is a beautifully restored historic hotel. It has old architecture with modern conveniences like pool, hot tub, and gym. The bar tenders in the restaurant keep happy hour fun.
