Boston Center for the Arts

The BCA does not care about visual artists — they only care about programs that generate revenue. They have forced visual artists from their studios, and the artists who live in studios at the Cloud Building. They lack communication with artists; instead, they hire subcontractors to handle it. If you are a person of color, stay away from this organization. If you are thinking of donating money, DO NOT send your money to this non-profit--they cannot even meet their outcomes. They preach about diversity and building community through the arts, but they have failed to do so.

Aug 15th was supposed to be an Open House for the studio galleries. ???.. My wife and I spend an hour driving into the city and only 3 or 4 studios bothered to even open out of a 100 or so?.. So WHY advertise an Open House if essentially nobody wants to participate?? Is their a reason maybe you have nothing to show ?? You are artists, so dont you want people to see your work and maybe buy something?. Everyone should "relish" this opportunity! Terrible management and poor planning!. When asked why studios not opened, we're told its up to the artists to decide... so fine... get feedback say a week before to know how many will participate??.. if too little participants, then postpone or cancel !!.. Simple management!..Don't waste people's time !!! So, why are you all there in the first place???... MAD AS HELL !.... will NEVER come back!

We have provided face painting and balloon twisting at several birthday parties at the BCA. Great venue to host families and kids! We created this Frozen-theme balloon garland for a recent party.

I attended a fiber show inside of this space a few weeks ago and it was lovely. It’s spacious and has beautiful architectural details within the interior.

went this past weekend to see Nüwa in Fairyland!! such a good show and cast, it was Queer AAPI night so i got to see lots of other queer AAPI in the audience 😌😌 loved the atmosphere and their blackbox theater!
