Hilton Garden Inn
Visitors frequently praise the friendly staff, clean accommodations, and good breakfast options, with some highlighting convenient amenities like rental bikes. However, a common complaint is poor soundproofing leading to noise disturbances, and some guests found the pillows to be uncomfortable.

Didn't let us no that roads to hotel would be shut due to take that on at stadium of light. Had to park car on tesco carpark which we were advised on booking,.parking was available. Very stressful trying to get to hotel due to not knowing the area. Went round 4 times ending up at same place. No diversion signs to follow. Room for what we paid not up to standard. Not value for money. Stains on carpet. Dated decor. Sofa bed for 1 person. No fan in bathroom. I could go on. For the price we paid they will not be getting us back
Only ate in the restaurant, not stay at the hotel itself. Food was OK but took a while to arrive especially given we were one of a few table so not exactly busy. Generally speaking OK. But probably better alternatives in the area
Had a great experience at this hotel over The Big Weekend. Service great, food great, i had a bacon cheese burger with chips and a side of onion rings it was really nice, the rooms were also really nice however I removed a star because I thought the beds could be a bit confier for such a prestigious hotel, but still 5/5
Disappointing – unfortunately, the worst Hilton hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm very disappointed. This hotel is by far the worst Hilton Group hotel I've ever stayed at. The carpet in the room was visibly dirty, with strange discolorations, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot. Many of the room doors had scratch marks at the bottom, as if cleaning carts were constantly being pushed against them – overall, it gave a poorly maintained impression. The housekeeping staff was particularly disappointing: unfriendly, they didn't greet guests, and ignored them in the hallway. I've never experienced anything like it. The reception staff was a mixed bag – some were very friendly and helpful, while others were unfortunately rather reserved and not very service-oriented. On the positive side: the lobby and bar made a decent, inviting impression. The staff in the breakfast and bar areas were friendly and attentive; the service there was good. In conclusion: It's a shame, this hotel could be so much better if the staff were consistently service-oriented and the rooms were left clean and well-maintained. In its current state, I can't recommend it, and it's not worth the money.
Perfect base for a visit to Sunderland AFC! 1 minute walk. Our rooms were perfect, nice beds, great shower, excellent! The breakfast was also great!!
