The Hive

The Hive is a queer café-bar at Magdalenenstraße 2 in Mariahilf, a few steps from the Naschmarkt. It took over the space of the old RedCarpet and calls itself "your bar in town in Vienna's queer neighborhood". Upstairs is a relaxed bar for coffee and drinks; the cellar works as a small club on busy nights. Patroc's October 2026 listings include it, and the LGBTQ+ Friends Vienna Meetup group holds its monthly get-togethers here, which makes it an easy first stop if you're new in town. Opening times shift with the season and with events, so check their site or Instagram before a late visit.
