The Rosa Lila Villa is the best-known LGBTQ+ community house in Austria. In 1982 lesbian and gay activists occupied the empty townhouse at Linke Wienzeile 102 in Mariahilf, and after negotiations with the City of Vienna they secured a lease. Queer collectives have run the building ever since, and its painted facade beside the Wienzeile is easy to spot. The Villa houses counselling services, including the long-running Türkis Rosa Lila Tipp, along with peer groups and community events. It is a working community space rather than a museum, so check the website for current opening times and programming before you visit. The Naschmarkt and the U4 Pilgramgasse station are nearby.

To displace Georg Pairst's post from number 1: He completely and incorrectly swaps the flag of Palestine, a people who have been oppressed for decades and are currently suffering genocide, with that of an organization (Hamas) accused of human rights violations. He likely does this intentionally to discredit the people and their cause.
