Where to stay in Plzeň
Plzeň has no gay hotel, and it doesn't need one: the city is calm, compact and easy to walk around. The hotels we list are mainstream places that we mark as gay-friendly, and the best base is the old town ring around náměstí Republiky. From there it's a few minutes to St. Bartholomew's Cathedral and the Great Synagogue and about 15 minutes on foot to the Pilsner Urquell brewery and the main station.
In the centre
- Hotel Central: on the main square, facing the cathedral.
- Boutique Hotel Rango: small hotel on Pražská, a minute from the square.
- Hotel Continental: on Zbrojnická at the southern edge of the old town.
- Hotel Gondola: hotel with restaurant and wellness on Pallova.
- Courtyard by Marriott Pilsen: chain hotel on the park ring.
- Vienna House Easy by Wyndham: by the brewery and the main station (formerly Angelo).
- Hotel Palace: across the river on Na Roudné, about 10 minutes' walk from the square.
- Parkhotel Plzeň: big congress hotel by Borský park in Bory, a tram ride from the centre.
- Pivovar Pod Lípou: village brewery with rooms in Kyšice, about 8 km east; best with a car.

A little further out
Book early for Pilsen Pride week in September and the Liberation Festival in early May. There's no gay bar in Plzeň right now, so don't pick a hotel for nightlife; see our Plzeň guide for where the community meets.
