Hotel Zoo Berlin

It’s a cool hotel. The rooms are spacious and super well taken care of. The linens, toiletries, cleaning all super good quality. It’s a nice stay! The staff is ok, not the friendliest or helpful, not bad either. We had very little interaction with them. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment about that. But overall is a good hotel. The area is also cool, but far from many of the trendy restaurants and venues. If you are looking to live the real Berlin vibe-maybe this area (even though is chic and nice) wouldn’t be my first choice.

The front reception was rude and incompetent.

Breakfast service was a bit slow, but otherwise it was great.

Bar visit on the ground floor: The server forgot our order, so after waiting 30 minutes, we left. Most of the furniture is uncomfortable, lacking any real back support, there's a cold draft, and the music near the speakers was too loud.

The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are okay, though some are quite noisy facing the Kurfürstendamm. However, what significantly deducts stars from my rating is the fact that paying hotel guests in jeans aren't considered "dressy enough" for the hotel bar. I would have liked to have a drink with my family, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. I hadn't brought chinos and a jacket with me on a day trip to Berlin. On top of that, the lady at the bar entrance gave us a disapproving look and asked if we couldn't change. We didn't look like we'd just been working in the fields, just not in chinos and a jacket. Not our kind of hotel...very disappointing.
