Ammutta Muddica Food&Drink

Honestly don’t go here. Shocking place. Went for the reviews. Thought I must have got the wrong place. Massively under cooked pasta twice. Also my bolognese felt like it wasn’t beef.

We spent a day in Palermo and were looking for a good bar; we sat down at Ammuta, and a French gentleman sitting nearby recommended some delicious pasta—we certainly weren't disappointed. The service was very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend it, and if the French gentleman happens to be reading this, please get in touch.😊

A little gem in the heart of Palermo! 🇮🇹🍷 At 21:05, I arrived at Ammuta Mudica. The terrace was buzzing with people enjoying themselves, and there was just one table available. Claudio, the waiter, kindly explained that the kitchen had closed at 21:00. I left, but after walking for three minutes, I thought: why not come back for just a glass of wine? What happened next says everything about this place. The owner welcomed me back and told me that I could not only have a drink but also order whatever I wanted to eat! Now that is hospitality. Claudio was wonderful, serving me a beautifully chilled glass of white wine, with ice on the side exactly as I had requested. Then came the spaghetti Carbonara, prepared in the most traditional way. Perfectly balanced, full of flavour, and so good that I did not need to add a single thing. No extra pepper, no olive oil, nothing. Just enjoy! The atmosphere on the terrace was fantastic, full of people having a great time in the heart of Palermo. No cover charge when you eat, more than fair prices, and genuinely friendly service. This is exactly the kind of local business we should support. You come as a stranger and leave feeling as though you have been welcomed into someone’s home. A little taste of Sicily at its very best. A huge grazie to Claudio and the owner. You made my evening! ❤️ Highly recommended! 12/10!

A restaurant right in the city center, on a side street off Via Maqueda. The two of us had an eggplant caponata and two portions of pasta alla norma. It's impossible to describe how delicious it was! Just one piece of advice: go try it! Unbeatable prices, too!

The caponata and pasta alla norma are truly amazing. Prices are reasonable, far from the tourist average. Highly recommended.

The best arancini on the whole island! And at a very, very good price. Bonus: beer is only €1. 😉 A must-try!

An excellent experience! Everything was delicious, with exceptional value for money, especially considering that it is located in the center of Palermo. There were four of us and we paid only €39 in total, including drinks, a dish per person and a bruschetta for each. A value for money that is hard to beat! The staff was very friendly and attentive, the waiting time was short and we loved the atmosphere, since the place is located in the middle of a street market, with a lot of atmosphere and authenticity. Without a doubt, a highly recommended place to eat well, at a good price and enjoy the atmosphere of Palermo. We would go back without hesitation!

Eating at a place like this shows how much you pay elsewhere for food that's not even half as good. We had caponata and two pasta dishes (the Norma and the one named after the restaurant), and everything was exquisite. The staff was very professional and friendly. We'll be back before we leave the city!
