Pembe Hayat (Pink Life)

Pembe Hayat (Pink Life) is a transgender rights association founded in Ankara in 2006. It is generally described as Turkey's first. It documents hate crimes and discrimination, offers free legal, health and social support to trans people, and runs projects such as a clothing bank and trans camps. It also organises KuirFest (Pink Life QueerFest), a queer film festival that Ankara authorities have repeatedly tried to ban. For safety reasons it does not publish a street address, so contact is through pembehayat.org. It is a support and advocacy organisation, not a social venue. LGBTQ+ public events in Ankara face frequent official bans, so check the current situation before attending anything.
