Gay Saunas in Rosario: The Honest 2026 Guide

Last verified: October 2026 · Compiled from venue checks and local and international sources from 2025–2026 · Report a change

Rosario is a river city of grand old buildings, long nights and the best previa culture in Argentina. Its gay life is mostly social: friends gathering at someone's flat before midnight, a drag dinner at Kika, then dancing at Mercury until the sun comes up over the Paraná. Saunas are a small side of that story. The city has just two, both modest, both men-only, and both at their best when you go with the right expectations: a relaxed soak, a drink at the bar and some eye contact, not a Buenos Aires-style labyrinth. Here's what each one is really like.

Legal in one line: Argentina was the first country in Latin America to legalise same-sex marriage (2010) and passed a pioneering gender identity law in 2012. Rosario is relaxed and welcoming, and nobody will bat an eye at two men walking into a sauna.

The two saunas

Aqua Urban Spa (Aqua Men) · Maipú 1282, Centro

Rosario's main gay sauna, right in the city centre and easy to reach on foot or by a short taxi ride. It's men-only, with two small saunas (dry and steam), a jacuzzi, a darkroom, lockers, massage and a full bar; drinks go on a tab you settle when you leave. Recent visitors praise how clean it is and how friendly the front desk is, especially to first-timers. The flip side: the spaces are small, a May 2026 visitor found the jacuzzi out of order, and on weekday afternoons there can be very few people. Weekends are livelier, with late hours on Friday and Saturday nights.

    • Price: about ARS 13,000 entry in May 2026; expect it to have risen.
    • Hours: older listings give roughly 12:30–23:00, with Friday until 02:00, Saturday until 04:00 and Sunday from 15:00. Call +54 341 447 6989 to confirm.

Sauna Midas · Marcos Paz 3456

Smaller and further out, west of the centre, but with one thing Aqua doesn't have: a large pool kept at a comfortable temperature, which regulars call the highlight. There are also wet and dry saunas, private cabins, lockers and a bar with good prices, and the crowd is a real mix of ages and types. It once had a reputation as the best sauna in town; in 2024 a regular complained that the steam room had been broken for over a month without warning, but 2026 visitors are happy again. Hours vary between listings, from 15:00–20:00 to 15:00–23:00 (midnight on Saturdays), so message its Instagram, @midas.spa, or call +54 9 341 322 0692 before you go.

    Practical tips

    • Paying: Argentina's prices move quickly. Carry pesos in cash for entry and the bar tab, and ask whether cards or transfers are accepted. Foreign cards now usually get a fair exchange rate, so paying by card is often fine where it's taken.
    • Getting there: Aqua is walkable from the centre and the riverside. For Midas, use a taxi or a ride-hailing app such as Uber or Cabify; buses need a SUBE card.
    • Lockers: keep your phone and wallet in your locker, and check that the jacuzzi or steam room you want is working before you pay.
    • Apps: Grindr is the main app in Argentina. Most hookups in Rosario start on the apps or on the dance floor rather than in the saunas.
    • Want more? If saunas are your priority, Buenos Aires is about four hours away by bus and has a much bigger scene.

Make a night of it

In Rosario, a sauna is best as part of a bigger night. Start with an early-evening session at Aqua, then do as the rosarinos do: a previa with friends and a fernet con Coca, the bittersweet drink that Rosario and Córdoba consider practically their own; dinner and a drag show at Kika; and dancing at Mercury from about 01:00. See our Rosario bars and clubs guide for addresses and nights.

Pride and health

Pride: Rosario's Marcha del Orgullo is held in the spring, in October; the 20th edition was on 3 October 2026. Expect the saunas and clubs to be busiest that weekend.

Health: if a condom breaks, PEP must start within 72 hours: go to the guardia (emergency department) of a hospital. Free HIV testing is available at municipal health centres; ask locally or at the city's LGBTI information office.

Rosarino words worth knowing: che (hey, mate), previa (pre-drinks, the most important part of the night), boliche (nightclub), chabón (guy), and re, as in re lindo ("really cute"). And if a local tells you Rosario is the birthplace of Che Guevara, Lionel Messi and the Argentine flag, nod: all three are true.

Frequently asked questions

Are there gay saunas in Rosario?

Yes, two small ones. Aqua Urban Spa, at Maipú 1282 in the city centre, is a men-only spa with dry sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, darkroom, massage and a bar. Sauna Midas, at Marcos Paz 3456, has wet and dry saunas, cabins, a bar and a pool that regulars love. Both are modest compared with Buenos Aires, so set your expectations accordingly.

How much does a gay sauna cost in Rosario?

A visitor to Aqua Urban Spa in May 2026 paid about ARS 13,000 for entry. Argentine prices change quickly with inflation, so ask at the door; drinks are usually charged separately when you leave. Neither sauna publishes a price list.

When are Rosario's gay saunas busiest?

Late afternoon and early evening, and on weekend nights at Aqua Urban Spa, which has run late on Fridays and Saturdays. Recent reviewers found both saunas quiet on weekday afternoons, so if you want a crowd, go on a Friday or Saturday.

Is Rosario gay-friendly?

Yes. Argentina was the first country in Latin America to legalise same-sex marriage, in 2010, and passed one of the world's most progressive gender identity laws in 2012. Rosario is relaxed and welcoming, with a lively gay bar and club scene and an annual Pride march in October.

Is it better to go to the saunas in Buenos Aires?

If saunas are your priority, yes: Buenos Aires, about four hours away by bus, has a bigger and busier sauna scene. Rosario's two saunas are small and quiet by comparison, and the city's gay life is more about its bars, clubs and the riverside.
