Bar Fama is a gay bar on Rua Frederico Abranches in Santa Cecília, the central-west neighbourhood where a good share of São Paulo's more local, less polished queer nightlife has settled. Expect a neighbourhood crowd, cheap beer and a casual set-up rather than a big production.
There are no published hours or website, so check recent reviews or social media before heading over. It works best as one stop on a Santa Cecília and República evening with the area's other bars, rather than a destination in itself. The surrounding streets get quiet late at night, so take a ride-hailing car home.
