關於此地 Cecília Embriagada

Cecília Embriagada is a bar on Rua Barão de Tatuí in Santa Cecília, the central-west São Paulo neighbourhood that has become the city's second queer nightlife zone after the Frei Caneca and Augusta corridor. The crowd is young and alternative, mixed but heavily LGBTQ+, and the night tends to spill out onto the pavement. With 1,400-odd Google reviews at 4.4, it is one of the better-known stops in the area, and it works best as a starting point before moving on to other bars and parties within walking distance. No opening hours are on file, so check its social media before heading over.

The drinks were disappointing, more ice than anything else, eclectic crowd.

The hamburger with parmesan bread comes with a soggy bun, a tall, well-done hamburger patty (not tasty at all), and the predominant flavor is that of a Lisa-type mayonnaise. The cassava fritter with dried meat and cheese is greasy, the frying isn't crispy, and the filling is dry. The Stand Up show is poorly organized. Even getting a ticket online and arriving early, I couldn't get a seat. They tried to set up an improvised area that didn't allow a good view of the show. Tickets are free, but they charge a cover fee on the bill for those watching the show. I don't recommend it.

To begin with, the music was extremely loud, making it impossible to have a conversation. The downstairs bathroom was worse than a university party bathroom at USP (University of São Paulo). We ordered two hamburgers with catupiry cheese, and they managed to write down the order correctly, but when we bit into the hamburger, it had pineapple and lemon pepper (which we didn't order and found awful). Because we made the "mistake" of not inspecting the hamburger when it arrived, we obviously finished eating it, since returning the bitten sandwich to the kitchen means discarding it. After consuming it, I informed the waitress, who saw the pineapple in the hamburger basket and had access to our order slip, which confirmed that this was not our sandwich. However, when it came time to pay, I obviously requested that they at least deduct the cost of the sandwich that we hated eating and simply finished to avoid waste. They refused, because we had already eaten the sandwich. I must ask, should we have returned the bitten sandwich to waste it? Furthermore, the sandwich was cut in half in such a way that simply picking it up to eat completely caused it to fall apart, forcing us to reassemble it. My girlfriend said it was the worst burger experience she'd ever had anywhere, and I have to agree. She only finished her burger because she slathered it in ketchup. In short, ideally don't set foot in that place, but if you're unfortunate enough to go and want to listen to people/go to the bathroom without being disgusted, choose the upper floor and avoid any burger because you might get a slice of pineapple in it unexpectedly.
