Hotel Isla Rey Jorge

A very acceptable hotel in downtown Punta Arenas. The hotel has a 19th-century style. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and had everything you needed. Excellent value for money.

The reception staff is very well-trained and offers complimentary coffee, tea, and herbal infusions, as well as Wi-Fi and a very decent buffet breakfast: fried potatoes, eggs, ham, cheese, fresh cheese, yogurt, and a selection of cakes and pastries. There's also an elevator inside the hotel. The rooms are generally comfortable, with heating, a TV, and a refrigerator for storing items. We didn't use the parking, but I saw a couple of spaces outside the hotel; I'm not sure if they have their own parking. It's very close to the casino and just two blocks from the main square—very centrally located!

It's one block from the main square. Very clean and welcoming. Some rooms are a bit small and dated, but the ambiance is fantastic. I've been here in both winter and summer, so I recommend it.

A great hotel to end our Patagonia trip. With luck, you get a parking spot right outside. Breakfast was excellent. Coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day in the lobby. The staff are incredibly friendly and speak English. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

Hotel Isla Rey Jorge is a nice hotel in colonial style building in downtown Punta Arenas. It is only 5 min walk to the main Plaza de Armas square and around 10 min to the seaside promenade. Rooms are spacious enough and clean with comfy beds. Although we had breakfast included we only had our lunch boxes for takeaway because of the tours we had starting very early. Staff was very pleasant and made a very nice gesture. Latam airlines rescheduled our flight so we had to leave at 7PM instead of tomorrow morning in order to catch another flight from Santiago. Despite leaving at 7PM they offered us a small discount for that night. Very few hotels would do that.

I don't recommend this hotel. Communication between shift changes was poor, and they refused to provide breakfast earlier because we had a flight. Reception confirmed breakfast was available, but the kitchen staff didn't have the information. We also woke up without electricity, which wasn't a major issue, but overall, the combination of problems resulted in a poor service experience. If I compare the price to the quality, it's very expensive.

The room was noisy due to construction work right next door, which was never communicated to us and was uncomfortable after nine days on a boat where you need to rest properly. The reception staff were quite curt; they recommended a rooftop bar that was closed when we arrived. My father lost his ID after checking in, and they never offered any assistance in finding it. In fact, they didn't even respond to our messages when we asked if they had seen it.

The place is cozy, ideal for a couple of nights' stay and enjoying the city. The breakfast was perfect. It's beautifully decorated, with the hotel's architecture and exposed stone, making you feel like you're in a small palace. I would definitely return.

Everything was fine, except the laundry service failed. They said they'd pick up the clothes at 3 pm and return them at 9 am the next day, which didn't happen. When we told them, they said they'd pick them up and return them in the afternoon, but the clothes still have the same dirt stains they arrived with. 👎
