UNIBAM (United Belize Advocacy Movement)

The United Belize Advocacy Movement (UNIBAM) is an LGBTQ+ rights organisation in Belize City, founded in 2006 with activist Caleb Orozco as a leading figure. It is best known for Orozco v. Attorney General, the case in which the Supreme Court of Belize struck down Section 53 of the Criminal Code in 2016, decriminalising consensual same-sex relations. Its work covers HIV prevention and access to care, documenting rights abuses, and advocacy for anti-discrimination protections. It does not run a public drop-in venue. Contact it through unibam.org.
