Courtyard by Marriott Montreal Laval

The check-in queue was endless. We arrived at 2:30 PM and were told we would receive a text message when our room was ready, which never happened. When we returned to collect our keys, we waited over 20 minutes to receive them.

This is probably the nicest Courtyard I have been to … rooms, people, service, is really quite amazing.

Stayed for almost a week for work. Its a newer hotel, with a nice 2nd floor rooftop restaurant, the rooftop terrace was closed, their actual response was that all the students were back to school and didn’t have any employees!! 😭🤣 The rooms have HUGE floor to ceiling windows, sofa lounge area, doorless showers. Usb ports scattered around the room, but seem to be slow charging. The clock radio had faster charging than the outlets. A nice feature was an auto sensing light below the entrance mirror, which turns on when you enter and during nighttime. The included breakfast was limited to 5 selections, bagel sandwiches, huge omelette, eggs and bacon, fruit platter or yogurt platter. All meals came with coffee, seasoned potato wedges and toast. Its a nice breakfast!! The hotel was connected to Starbucks, Presto tea, Souvlaki restaurant, and a few other eateries. When it rains, you dont need to go outside. The hotel is connected to other taller buildings and condo units, with a great courtyard in the middle and next to Place Bell. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend!

Perfect location and close to everything. Shopping, great restaurants, the Cosmodôme, iFLY, and plenty of other attractions are all nearby. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and found it to be a great home base for our trip. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. We would definitely stay here again!

Gold Elite Member. Booked several times this year. This time, the check-in which should be the most important especially for regular returning clients, was terrible. 5 minutes just standing at the counter while the lady was checking her computer or on her phone. Another reception personnel at the other desk. No greeting, no "hello, we'll be right with you". Finally a disgruntled "this may take longer today" without a greeting or explanation. No offer of upgrade or explanation. I had already paid for parking, she didn't know and looked very annoyed. The lady at reception MADE ME FEEL UNWELCOME, which is the worst thing you can do in the hospitality business to returning clients. Made me feel I was a burden just being there. She may have been having a bad day and I'm protecting her privacy out of decency for fellow human beings, but as a business the reception and welcome should not be as you would in a 3rd rate motel. This is Marriott, and it felt like I'm checking into a 3rd rate inn.
