It is a mainstream place listed as gay-friendly, not a gay venue, and it gets good Google reviews for its food. It makes a useful lunch stop while sightseeing in the old centre. The streets east of the Zocalo empty out after dark, so it is better for daytime meals. The bars on Republica de Cuba, the centre's main gay strip, are about 15 minutes' walk west.
