Curtiss Hotel

Would like to start by saying, I am a Platinum Choice Hotel member. I have been using the choice for the past 5 years for work, almost exclusively. I used points to stay at this location. I got in an accident, just 5 minutes out from the hotel. I am from Michigan. They did not allow me to get anything from my vehicle so all I had was my ID. After going through hell dealing with police and having them just drop me off under a bridge where gunshots are going off, I find my way to the hotel. They REFUSED to allow me to stay there because I didn’t have my credit card….. I was forced to sleep in a fire department down the road because I was completely out in the streets with no money and hundreds of miles from anyone I know. This was BEYOND DISGUSTING. I had my mother on the phone attempting to give them a credit card, but they refused. Needless to say, not only will I NEVER stay at this location, I have deleted the Choice Hotel app and will never use it again. I understand policies and there are some scumbags out there that will take advantage of people good will, but this was the most disgusting, lack of humanity, I have ever seen. Again, I will make sure I tell EVERYONE in my industry to avoid using Choice at all costs. Again, just beyond disgusted. However, shoutout to the Embassy Suites by Hilton for doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of Curtis, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a place to sleep. Will continue using Hilton from now on.

It was absolutely amazing. Pure Luxury yet, small enough to get that personal touch. It made you feel like you're a special guest when they all know who you are and welcome you by name. Every employee we encountered from the desk, bar, housekeeping, maintenance and security were absolutely amazing. You can tell they truly enjoy their jobs and that makes a difference! We loved everything about this this beautiful hotel. Will definitely stay again if we happen to go into Buffalo.

I hate to leave such a bad review but given the circumstances I feel like I have to. Me and my husband stayed here the night of our wedding and the next night. We had nothing but problems. Our toilet did not work we had reported this to the front desk and was told they’d send someone 6 hours go by we return to the room no one had fixed it. The door to the bathroom could not be closed or the hinge would fly off and trap you in there. I also called 4 days prior to confirm we’d get a specific room as I was told that every room was a little different I had explained to her that it was our wedding night and we’d really like the room that we booked and went over which exact room, she reassured us that we would be getting that room. Upon arrival it was not that room and when I had asked when checking out I was told that we did in fact pay for that upgraded room but was put in a cheaper room. For paying 790 dollars I was extremely disappointed in this experience. This night was a very special night to me and my now husband and this experience definitely put a damper on it. We also had our entire wedding party stay here as well and they had a lot of the same similar issues. For a 5 star hotel we expected a lot better. We did receive a 100 dollar discount for these issues but I feel as if for what we paid we should have been refunded a lot more especially given the toilet, door and room issues.

gorgeous somewhat upscale bar on the roof of the hotel that people rave about. great view with a memorable skyline - you know a picture taken at the Curtis was taken at the Curtis. Skybar is next door if you're looking for a larger outdoor area for the rooftop bar scene

By far the smallest room I've stayed in. Shower was supposed to be the highlight but was more of a gimmick than a feature. Security lady (Krystal) was extremely rude and treated us and our child like we weren't supposed to be at the hotel. Even watched us while we got breakfast. Certainly not a 5 star hotel.
