Where to stay in Buffalo for the gay bars
Buffalo has no gay hotel or gay-owned guesthouse that we could confirm. The practical choice is location: the downtown hotels on Delaware Avenue are a 10-15 minute walk north to Allentown, where all three gay bars are, and Elmwood Village puts you near the Pride parade route.
Downtown, walkable to Allentown
- The Westin Buffalo (250 Delaware Ave): the newest of the downtown hotels, a block from Underground Niteclub.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo (200 Delaware Ave): all-suite, renovated in 2026.
- Hampton Inn & Suites Buffalo Downtown (220 Delaware Ave): mid-range, breakfast included.
- Curtiss Hotel (210 Franklin St): boutique hotel in a 1912 building, with a rooftop hot-springs pool.
- Hyatt Regency Buffalo (2 Fountain Plaza): large conference hotel on the Metro Rail.
- The Richardson Hotel (444 Forest Ave): 88 rooms in H.H. Richardson's 1870s asylum buildings, formerly Hotel Henry, a short walk from the Pride parade start.
- InnBuffalo off Elmwood (619 Lafayette Ave): small B&B in an 1898 mansion. Local press has reported the property is for sale, so check it's still taking bookings.
- Pride weekend (early June) and Bills home games fill downtown hotels, so book early.
- All of these are mainstream hotels. New York law bans discrimination on sexual orientation and gender identity, so same-sex couples shouldn't have problems.
- From the airport (BUF, about 18 km east), a taxi or rideshare to downtown takes around 20 minutes.
