Pride in the 'Peake

Pride in the 'Peake is Chesapeake's own LGBTQ+ Pride organisation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2022. Its main event is the city's annual Pride festival each June at Chesapeake City Park, which it bills as the only intentionally sober, family-friendly Pride in the seven cities of Hampton Roads. The festival has entertainment, community booths and kids' activities with no alcohol. The group also runs smaller events through the year, including tie-ins such as "Brewed with Pride" at local venues. It's the main point of contact for LGBTQ+ community life in Chesapeake itself. For bars and nightlife, most people head to neighbouring Norfolk. Check prideinthepeake.org for dates.
