Kimpton The Rowan Palm Springs

Very disappointing experience, especially for a Kimpton at this price point. I specifically called ahead, messaged through the hotel chat, and contacted them on Instagram to let them know I was staying there to celebrate my birthday—which was the actual day of my stay. At check-in, the front desk had no idea about it. There was no acknowledgment, no card, no small gesture, and not even a “Happy Birthday.” I understand that upgrades are subject to availability, but this wasn’t about expecting an upgrade—it was about basic attention to a guest celebrating a special occasion after notifying the hotel multiple times. We were also given only one complimentary drink voucher for the entire room, while other Kimpton properties I’ve stayed at provided one per guest. For a hotel in this price range, the complete lack of attention to detail was extremely disappointing and not what I expect from Kimpton.

It’s located right at the central part of Palm Springs! Location is the best part of this hotel. The shower and the room itself is little rundown. The rooftop swimming pool is a nice touch with the Mountain views ⛰️

Beautiful hotel with great location. That said if you’re among those who are sensitive to mold, you will be overwhelmed by the smell of it the moment you walk in the lobby and across many areas of the hotel, including in my case the hotel room itself. Service at the rooftop hotel bar was also lacking (long waits / entirely ignored waiting for a drink on the roof due to what appears to be poor staff training).

Checked into this hotel and it is absolutely beautiful. Our room has a beautiful view of the city of Palm Springs the minute you walk in the service is perfect. Everyone wants to make sure you’re happy. They provide a lot and I would recommend this place highly.

Great rooftop with great views and cocktails! A great place to start the day or end it with a nightcap.

I am already thinking of a way of returning. I just returned home and can truly say this is a benchmark of what a hotel should resemble of 5 Star rating. It started with the following; First Impressions- made by Colin and the staff when I entered waiting in the comfortable lobby while it was the usual "triple digit" weather outside. I drove close to 3hrs to get there and being exhausted I had to ask for some assistance and Colin was "class act". I had a few simple questions and he was polite and not bothered by my insignificant request; he had empathy. Thank you kindly! Next, we got there as they started to have a welcoming period of refreshment and an hourderve (cooked bacon-wrap on a toothpick) I wasn't sure at 1st but it went great with the pinot wine they had in the lobby. this is given weekday from 4-5PM. It was a probably the best check-in starter I have ever experienced in a hotel in the area and I have gone to a handful so far. Furthermore- room, bed, lookout, balcony and especially the bathroom area made it difficult for us to checkout. It looked just like the pictures you see on the advertisement. Everything is set perfectly in-pace, clean, tidy and there was even a backgammon board to use. They Gym on the 2nd floor was super efficient. Then the Pool area on the top was perfect to wine, dine, relax and even catch a game or a fight. The location and parking was also excellent. super safe as their was constant security around the grounds around the clock...there is even several "Pickle Ball" court next to the covered underground parking that looks very new. I am sure the inside restaurant is probably worth a try as well. Im already looking forward to returning.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The location was also great, right in downtown and convenient for getting around. Unfortunately, the rooms were very loud. We stayed on the second floor and you could hear every time someone flushed a toilet, which made it difficult to fully relax and get a good night’s sleep. The rooftop bar was also disappointing. The drinks were overpriced and didn’t taste good.

one night fabulous stay after backpack camping in San Jacinto. We stumbled in stinky and sweaty into the sleek lobby without any judgmental looks from the staff. Abby at the front desk was very patient while I rummaged through my humongous backpack looking for my wallet, and the valet was super helpful. I think "Don" was his name, but that might be mistaken given our sleep deprived brains. We happened to drop in at the social hour, and Ben was friendly and kept the husband entertained while I sucked down much needed hydration. Room was clean, bed super comfy, bathroom well appointed. The rooftop pool area was absolutely wonderful for an evening lounge and morning outdoor work. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. Could not ask for a nicer stay. Thanks to all at the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs!
