Anniversary dinner. Superb food and unmatched service. Jenn was wonderful and we really enjoyed the food, drink, and atmosphere. First of many visits! Thanks for having us 🙂

Great food, terrific service. Very meal we have had here is splendid.

Not saying anything others haven’t already but the service is bar none. We were greeted for our anniversary with complimentary glasses of bubbles, and red hearts on the table. They also take a photo and print it out for you to bring home. The food was also exceptional. Every course had a vegetarian option except the main but they make an off menu entree that was great. The wine pairing is also a great add on. Unlike anywhere else we have been, your pairing is truly dependent on your menu item selection so we never had the same glass of wine between the two of us. These extra touches make Joan’s at the top of our must try spots in the Twin Cities and for us Minneapolis siders, well worth crossing the boarder for!

July 2026 This is one of our go tos and we usually bring other couples to experience the food . Tonight was another amazing culinary experience, exceptional service, polite, always happy and at the ready for any needs that pop up. I've included pics from our group but my favorites for tonight were the onion knot bread (forgot to take a pic), even though the milk bread w/honey miso was everyone's favorite. I also ordered the heirloom tomatoes, masa corn dumplings, the market fish, of course I forgot the name but it was a flaky, white fish baked to perfection and I finished the evening with a cream cheese tart topped with blueberries and balsamic vinegar. Also their Old Fashions are perfect. Congrats on your anniversary! We are looking forward to many more years to come. Cheers!

It's hard to describe this place because it is so incredibly unique. Susan and Joan's hospitality is what really sets this place apart. Everyone is so attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. I don't come here often but I am always greeted with a smile, made to feel like I'm part of the "family" and never rushed. The food is obviously exceptional but the service is where they separate themselves from their peers. There are great dining experiences across the city that leave you feeling completely satisfied but rarely do you find a place that every aspect is so warm and comforting that you don't want to leave. This is one of three restaurants in the Twin Cities that I would recommend to anyone regardless of what they are in the mood for. 10/10, never misses!

This was our first visit here and we were celebrating my husband's birthday. They were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. They brought us celebratory champagne, had confetti on the table and took our picture for us to take with as a memory of the evening. Our waitress was knowledgeable and helped us made decisions for selections. The food was excellent and the flavors were unique, which is a plus for me! Our drinks were tasty. I enjoyed a refreshing non alcoholic drink. We me the owner, Joan and Susan, and were impressed with their genuine kindness, welcoming smiles and willingness to visit, and to make everyone welcome. This is a beautiful restaurant and it feels so comfortable here, and designed for a relaxing experience. I cannot recommend this place enough and I feel it's very fair priced for the food, hospitality and service.

First time at Joan's and I was blown away by the experience. Fine dining and white table clothes with a relaxed and casual setting. The onion bread was warm and savory with the whipped ricotta. The beef steak tartare was delicious. The cavatelli pasta was also very good. The filet mignon was incredible! Cooked a perfect medium rare too. The glaze on the filet coupled with the tomato sauce made for an irresistible taste. The Brown butter pudding for dessert is a must have dish! I was perfectly full after the 4 courses and dessert. The service was on point and every person on the team was friendly! I absolutely will be back to try other items on the menu.

Took my girlfriend out to dinner and wanted to propose to her. I contacted them ahead of time and they helped coordinate the surprise flawlessly. They made the memory so special. Thank you Joan's!

I don't say this lightly, but this might be the best dining experience in the cities. It's been a week since I first went, and I'm literally still thinking about it. It took us a minute to find the door because it was so non descript. As soon as we entered we left the middle of Highland Park and were transferred into somones home/back yard. Food and service were the best I've experienced here, and there are some truly incredible restaurants around

Our favorite place to celebrate a special occasion! The menu choices are always exactly on point. The food presentation and overall atmosphere of Joan’s is perfection!
