Comfort Suites Salem

Great location right off I-5 freeway and of course expect the freeway noise. Rooms are large, ours had two queens and a queen size (or pretty close) sleeper sofa. Only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was the normal eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffle maker and the normal breakfast bread products. Nice size pool, sauna and gym room. The hot tub is a little small but still nice.

$140 a night and elevator broken, shower in pool area out of service, spa jets out of order, tissue holder in bathroom loose in wall. Should have had elevator repair company there 24/7 to get that unit operating. Walking up stairs with lots of luggage is unacceptable for this location. No staff on duty to help with luggage.

I stayed at this property and was deeply disappointed by the condition of the room. The bedroom was filthy — dust and debris on the floor, stained and worn sheets and pillows, and a neglected bathroom. The bed had clearly been used by a previous guest; the covers had simply been pulled back up rather than properly changed. I also discovered heroin on the floor. When I raised these concerns with the manager, the interaction was unprofessional throughout. I also contacted the corporate office, and the company itself proved equally unprofessional in its response. I would not recommend this property or this company to anyone.

It is a nice place to stay. The amenities are great. The service is outstanding and here is why. The last morning my family and I were here there was a fire in the kitchen. Something with the stove. This happened sometime before 5am. All the alarms are going off. Smoke in the hallway. Fire department shows up. They didn't have to break out any hoses and they left after a short time. Breakfast starts at 6am and most of us were wondering if breakfast will be later or will there be breakfast at all. You have hungry guest from working folks to vacationers. When this happened there all kinds of smoke in the hallway. The smoke had the smell of an electrical fire so it was bad. Get out of the room at 6am and they had the smoke all cleared out by opening the doors. Walk down the hallway to see about breakfast thinking there's no way it is up and running. BREAKFAST WAS READY BY 6AM! Fantastic service! This whole review is about how inspite of a fire breakfast was ready. The rooms are also nice.

3:00 AM,we go to the front desk, room next door has volume up as loud as it will go. 4:00 AM, another trip to the front desk, same issue. The guy says, oh, I'll call the room. Nothing changes, no one can sleep here. 7:00 AM, AGAIN, I go to the front desk. Thankfully night shift is gone and Ronnie immediately went to the room to wake up a passed out lady on top of her remote. Thank you Ronnie, you are the only reason it was 2 stars for service. Sadly we didn't get sleep and now another day on the road will be so fun!! Hampton Inn from now on, apparently the night shift here could not be bothered to do their job. Do better.
