Mac's Club is a gay dive bar on Post Street in downtown San Jose and generally described as the city's oldest, dating back to the 1960s. It's dim and unfussy, with cheap, strong drinks, a pool table and a small back patio. The crowd is a mix of longtime regulars and younger people moving between here and Splash, the dance bar next door.
It's one of very few dedicated gay bars left in the South Bay, so it's busier than its size suggests on weekend nights. Weeknights are quieter, and karaoke nights come up in reviews. Check hours before going, as our data doesn't list them.
