RainbowYOUTH is an Auckland-headquartered charity supporting queer, gender-diverse, takatapui and intersex young people across Aotearoa New Zealand. It provides peer support, drop-in spaces, social groups and education, and runs services for rainbow youth experiencing homelessness. With roots stretching back to the 1980s, it is one of the country's oldest and best-known rainbow youth organisations.

Today, I had the privilege of visiting Rainbow Youth for the first time, and it was truly a life-changing experience. It was the first time in my life that I opened up about my journey as a transgender person, and the entire team welcomed me with open hearts. They listened to my story with genuine care and made me feel incredibly safe and supported. The environment felt like a family—warm, loving, and inclusive. I was deeply touched by the kindness, the beautiful welcome, and even the thoughtful gift they had for me. Thank you so much to the entire Rainbow Youth team.
