You get what you pay for. It's a decent rate for the location and room, albeit a bit dated interior and thin walls. The hill to the lodge is fantastic cardio

My friend and I had a very unpleasant experience with this lodge. We had booked a room for the Easter weekend and were very excited about our trip! My friend called the day before our trip to make sure everything was all set only be told that they cancelled our reservation. They offered no explanation for this and simply said “you would have been contacted about it by both booking.com AND the lodge”. However, neither of us were contacted about anything… We asked for a new room but were told that they “can no longer accommodate us”. This was obviously very distressing as we had our whole trip planned and now nowhere to stay. If we hadn’t called, we would have rocked up the next day only to have nowhere to sleep that night! The person on the phone was incredibly rude to my friend, offered no apology, sympathy, or alternatives. I decided to contact them online to show that we were quite unhappy with the service received and to see if they could offer an alternative. Someone called Jess replied very quickly but again was very rude and unhelpful. She did explain that our room was cancelled as they tried to charge my friends card which didn’t go through (completely our fault). However, instead of contacting us to sort out the payment, they just cancelled our room without telling us… Again, the service was incredibly rude and made no attempt to offer a solution, I asked to talk to someone else and have been ignored, even after following up. We luckily managed to find new accomodation but had to spent another $200. This was a really disappointing experience overall and made our Easter weekend quite stressful. The management seem to have no interest in trying to resolve issues (which there seem to be a lot of).

So was dreading coming here after reading the reviews. Overall it wasn’t as bad as anticipated but whoever owns the business should take on the feedback . The staff at the front desk were so helpful and friendly . The cleaners I saw looked exhausted . The rooms were functional and reasonably clean but tired and depressing if you stay more than a few nights. The location is fantastic if you have boys that want to bike . One big down side for me was the kitchen . Very little space and in desperate need of a deep clean . The noise from other people definitely went past 10 but was bearable .

Me and my dad stayed here for 4 nights, and honestly it wasn't good. The floor was creaky, and the people above us also had a creaky floor, so when me and my dad came home tired at 9:30 pm, we could just hear constant creaking above us. It was hard to fall asleep since you could legit hear everything. Oh, and also I found 2 hairs in the bed that weren't mine. I get that this is a cheap place, but can't they keep decent hygiene around the place? The towels also smelled weird, to a point where I just held my breath every time I had to dry myself with the towels. I wouldn't come back here.

Good location but very poorly maintained hotel. Too small room and shower is too fast for hot water and water falls everywhere in the bathroom. Room is stuffy.

Location is good. Price is good. Breakfast is awsome. Front Desk serive was good. But rooms are small and bathroom is way too small. There were 6 beds in a tiny room.

Average 3 flights of stairs only 1 functional laundry wifi works sometimes the Chromecasts supplied do not connect to there wifi the rooms are Average and the loft bed is just annoying and terrifying. One of the staff were so helpful and tried her best but unfortunately I never got her name. She checked me in. The rest I just seemed to annoy.

If I could rate the room a 0 I would. It is awful and I wish I looked at reviews and spent money elsewhere. I sleep so well usually and I have had the worse sleep ever here. Hearing all the footsteps above me, people are so LOUD and inconsiderate, if you’re going to book, book with caution and request the top floor!! You hear everything and need to sleep with the window open because it’s like a Sauna in the rooms. It’s actually awful. I feel like I would’ve been better off in a hostel sharing a room with other people.

I don't quite understand the negative reviews, perhaps because I had a room on the top floor, and therefore wasn't bothered by noise from above, as there was no one living there. Even though the kitchen has the bare minimum, we had enough to cook for five days. The bathroom is a bit small, but it's not a big deal. The view from the balcony is magnificent. I found the accommodation cozy and perfect for two. However, one negative point to mention is that the Wi-Fi doesn't work at all in the rooms, and the wall insulation isn't great either. I had room 88, and several times I had trouble opening the door because of the key. The accommodation was very clean, and since we stayed more than five nights, housekeeping was available, even though we didn't use it. Breakfast is a nice touch, but I think chocolate spread and perhaps hot chocolate powder could be added. Even though the accommodation is uphill and there's quite a steep climb, it's still a real luxury for the price we paid to have a place so close to the center of Queenstown. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay in the accommodation and in the town; we'll cherish the memories.

This accomodation has no compassion for anyone, @The Reavers, u guys really need to look at ur reviews, clearly they aren't good, I feel really sorry for people who paid and unfortunately couldn't go or ended up with an illness etc u daylight rob people and have no heart the manager on the phone was the worst with the policy this policy that terms and conditions etc etc, u left our family of 6 broke for 6 days knowing times are tough and with this war going on as well... When I went to book with u guys I put a request in for the money to NOT be taken out until a certain date and use ignored it and took it straight away and won't refund me as I didn't authorize for use to take it untill that certain date, my bank is helping me to get it back... So what do u actually do with the money u take from people that can't make it cos looking at the reviews sounds like use need to clean it up and with everyone saying what they are sounds like health and safety need to get in there and check everything... If u guys actually had compassion for people u might get better reviews.... I'm really upset with u guys and looks like other people are to...

A super cool lodge with a unique room concept: We had a room spread over two floors – downstairs for cooking and relaxing, and upstairs for sleeping. Everything was very comfortably furnished, so we felt completely at ease. The laundry facilities were also very convenient – ​​the machines were easy to use with just a few coins. Breakfast was served upstairs in the bar and offered everything you need for a great start to the day. Overall, a really pleasant stay!
