Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui

Best resort hotel I stayed in my life. I don’t usually leave a review so it tells how good it was. Genuinely fantastic service by staff members - not pretentious and down to earth yet very professional. I took my parents in 60s and they are very impressed as well. Food was also amazing across the breakfast, lunch and dinner (both Thai and international cuisine). The location is exactly when you imagine a tropical paradise and it’s located in lovely quiet bay. I loved the fact how conscious the hotel is on sustainability and you can tell the respect to the local nature and environment. I think the hotel is best suited for the guests who would appreciate those and not for the ones seeking lavishness. Definitely would like to come back again.

We spent 8 amazing nights in Garrya Tongsai Bay. The hotel has a private beach, with all the facilities that you need. Everything was great. The staff, the service, the food, the spa, and we didn’t want to leave the hotel, not even to see other places in Koh Samui.

Excellent hotel, highly recommended. Staff super friendly and efficient. Special shout out to Kooki, Pu, Mark but everyone excellent. Food very good, not cheap but worth the premium. Highly recommended.

The sea, the view, the nature, the comfort of the rooms, the exceptional attention and work of the staff, the quality of the food and drinks, and the spa all offer a unique experience.

Extremely disappointing Perhaps because we stayed at the excellent 10/10 Sala Choengmon prior we were spoiled, but we found the service pretty mediocre by Thai standards (but probably decent by EU/AU/NZ standards). They put us in a villa between two construction sites and the power saws began at 8am. They moved us after we complained several hours later with no apology, compensation or upgrade. It could be worse, a family we met had to move rooms because of a millipede infestation in their room, again with no compensation/upgrade. Be warned if you plan to stay here because of ALL, they don't care at all about accor status and you will get nothing, not even an acknowledgement of your status. There are lots of niggly things this hotel does (emblematic of a bad hotel) like trying to charge 300 thb for asking for extra cutlery. The surrounds are amazing and the view is fantastic but a good hotel is more than the sum of its parts and when I compare it with Sala Choengmon - which is far cheaper but does not have the same views or super sized villas, there is no contest because of the service and care which does not happen at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui.

Beautiful place, with perfect scenery. At breakfast, a sweet lady, always with a smile, prepares excellent juices from high-quality fruit. The quality of the fruit at this hotel was higher than at the other 5-star hotels in Thailand we've been to. There is a very kind, intelligent lady named Kookik who went out of her way for us to make sure we were satisfied with everything related to the food here and to accommodate all our peculiarities. All the restaurants in the resort were of an exceptionally high standard. There are also two excellent pools here, both with breathtaking views of the beach and the forest. There is also direct access to the beach itself, with the opportunity to swim.

We celebrated our honeymoon at this hotel, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and pampered. The entire staff was super attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay special. A huge, special thanks to Nan at the front desk—he was absolutely amazing and took such great care of us. Thank you so much for the outstanding hospitality! We also have to mention the food: everything we tried was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

We've stayed here for several years now, most recently in 2016. It was fantastic! We're currently staying at a hotel nearby and decided to stop in to show the kids and have dinner. What can I say, there's simply no point in even considering Tongsai anymore. The service, the staff, the grounds—everything has gotten worse. Ultimately, we won't be dining here, or staying. It's a shame.

If you are looking for a great experience during your holiday stay in Koh Samui, then this is the property to choose. From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely welcomed at every step. The entire team—from the front office and restaurant staff to the buggy drivers and security personnel—goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. A special mention to the wonderful lady at the fruit salad counter every morning (fondly known as the “Chop Chop Lady”). She brought a smile to our faces every day and made breakfast a delightful experience. The person who truly makes you feel special, valued, and treated like royalty is “KOOKIK”. Garrya is privileged to have a team member like her. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for guests are exceptional and left a lasting impression on us. We will definitely come back to Koh Samui, and this property will be one of the main reasons for our return. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommended!
