The eastern tip of the Ile de Nantes around Beaulieu is a long-standing outdoor gay cruising spot, on the riverbank a couple of kilometres from the centre. Activity is discreet, mostly after dark and in warmer months. France is broadly tolerant of LGBTQ+ people, but this is a public area — be discreet, respect others and follow local rules.
