Everything is very sparse... dirty, the shower curtain is a disaster... everything is shabby... just awful... absolutely not worth the price...

The standard of accommodation is no longer acceptable, even as a place to stay for tradespeople. The Hotel Grimm, which is advertised as a hotel, is more of a makeshift solution than a proper place to stay. Everything is run-down, broken, or patched up haphazardly. It looks as if the hotel was bought by the previous owner and not a single euro has been invested in it since. It's located directly on the main road in front of a traffic light; the windows had to be kept closed at night due to heavy truck traffic.

Not a recommended hotel

We were there for a dog show and, given the "disappointing" rating on Booking.com and the 2.8-star Google rating, didn't have high expectations. Since the Booking.com website only mentioned the standard "fees may apply" regarding bringing dogs, we registered "multiple dogs" at check-in. We had booked two nights through Booking.com. The receptionist informed us that there would be a €15 fee. After seeing that we had arrived with three dogs, he stated that we owed an additional €30, as the €15 fee had only applied to one dog. Well, that should have settled the matter, right? So we generously overlooked the exposed wall plugs and screws, the half-torn wallpaper and curtains, and other "eyesores," and spent most of the day at the show. We also conveniently ignored the moldy shower, the musty smell in the room upon arrival, and the general filth. The furnishings look like they were salvaged from the trash, and smoke detectors (aren't they mandatory in Germany?!?) are practically nonexistent. On the second evening, another employee informed us that we still owed €45, as the €15 per dog applied to each individual night. When we pointed out that we should have been informed at check-in—after all, we wouldn't have booked the room if we'd known we'd be charged €90 just for the dogs at the end of the day (in addition to the nearly €120 for the double room)—we were simply snapped at and told that it was perfectly normal. When I pointed out that the lack of mid-stay cleaning (which we hadn't requested, and I have no idea if it would have been provided, although the term "cleaning" is clearly interpreted very loosely here) didn't incur any additional costs, regardless of whether the dogs stayed one or two nights, they refused to engage with us rationally. There was absolutely no sign of any goodwill gesture.

This hotel is an outrage. Aside from finding a giant cobweb right above the bed, the room was covered in huge patches of mold. I felt incredibly nauseous in the room and only with great difficulty managed to vomit several times. The price of 72 euros is unjustified. There are much cheaper and, above all, cleaner places to stay in the area. If you value your health, I strongly advise against staying here. I have rarely experienced such a run-down hotel.

The hotel smelled damp as soon as you entered. The rooms were a comfortable size, but not clean. There was a stain on the nightstand, the bed linens were clean but stained, and the shower cubicle in the bathroom was very cramped and dirty. There was no shampoo in the bathroom, and the corners of the shower cubicle were always moldy and dirty. Overall, the hotel and the room were not clean enough.
