We had a wonderful time at Bellaugello Gay Country House! Jochen and Kai are two warm and welcoming hosts who truly care about their guests' well-being. They lovingly prepare breakfast each morning and look after the evening dinners, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. They are always happy to answer any questions and offer tips for activities in the area. The location and the view from the property are breathtakingly beautiful – a true oasis of tranquility in the heart of nature. The expansive grounds offer plenty of quiet spots to relax and unwind. The room was beautifully furnished; it lacked nothing. We wholeheartedly recommend Bellaugello and would return in a heartbeat!

While browsing online, we came across this little slice of paradise in the heart of Umbria, just a stone’s throw from Gubbio, a stunning medieval village. From the photos and reviews, we already knew it would be a dream getaway – but the reality was even more enchanting than we imagined. What truly won us over was the kindness of the hosts and the quality of the guests: it’s easy to connect with others and form genuine friendships. The location is secluded and offers the peace and privacy promised, yet you're only a short drive away from everything beautiful Umbria has to offer. Not far from the property, you'll find magnificent Perugia and Assisi, as well as the already mentioned Gubbio. And since you'll have a kitchen in your beautiful apartment, it’s worth knowing that just 15 minutes away by car there’s a very well-stocked Conad supermarket where you can find plenty of local products for a magical sunset dinner. We’ll definitely be back!

A place to arrive, unwind, and return to We spent an unforgettable week at Bellaugello Gay Country House in June 2025. We received a warm welcome upon arrival – you can immediately sense the passion and attention to detail that goes into creating this place. Our suite was spacious, tastefully furnished, and offered complete privacy. The large infinity pool with its magnificent view over the valley is a true highlight – perfect for relaxing and daydreaming. A major plus are our hosts, Kai and Jochen, who are not only incredibly friendly but also provide fantastic tips – whether for authentic restaurants, charming shops, or regional markets. Thanks to their recommendations, we experienced Umbria's culinary side in a particularly rich way. Breakfast was fresh and regional every day, always featuring homemade specialties like jam and bread. The scrambled eggs, for example, are prepared with everything the kitchen has to offer and with great care. And the shared dinners on the terrace were truly delightful moments in pleasant company – relaxed, personal, and delicious. Although many attractions are nearby (e.g., Gubbio or Assisi), we often simply enjoyed the peace and quiet of the grounds: the infinity pool, the whirlpool, the natural surroundings, and a feeling of complete escape from everyday life. In short: Bellaugello is much more than just accommodation – it's a special place where you feel welcome, respected, and completely at ease. We'll definitely be back!

When you leave Bellaugello, you regret not staying longer. We had only booked three days and could easily have spent a week there. Everything has already been said about the quality of the rooms and their spaciousness, even the smallest one (del Duca), which is the one we stayed in. Its size also allows for a kitchenette, so you can prepare meals to eat on the terrace if you wish. But the delicious barbecue offered one evening a week, as well as the restaurants located a few kilometers away, also make it easy to find a good meal. I should mention that you can buy wine, various drinks, pasta, and a few other products on site. The grounds are vast and have several terraces, all offering stunning views of the gently rolling, peaceful countryside. You can read, relax, or unwind in various spots, in the shade or in the sun, which is very pleasant. And the pool—let's talk about it; It's divine: large enough to actually swim in; an infinity pool, with the same sublime view as the other terraces. You could easily spend a whole day there, alternating between sun loungers and swimming! Finally, Jochen and Kai's welcome is full of kindness and thoughtfulness; they are very attentive to their guests' needs and well-being. A huge thank you for these delightful moments!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Bellaugello and are already looking forward to returning! The setting is absolutely magical, the hotel is beautifully designed and impeccably clean, and the atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and welcoming. Our suite was simple yet elegant, and we felt instantly at home. The hosts have curated a fantastic selection of delicious local wines, and the honesty bar by the pool is a lovely touch—perfect for relaxing in the sunshine. The surrounding area is full of charm, with stunning medieval walled towns just a short drive away, making it an ideal base for exploring. Just a note for future guests: the suites don’t have air conditioning, so it’s worth keeping that in mind during the hotter months. Thank you again to the whole team for such a memorable stay!

If you’re looking for a little bit of heaven on earth in Italy, put Bell’Augello at the top of your list. We fell in love with the place the very first time we went, several years ago, and have been back 11 times since. And each time the place casts its captivating spell: the sheer beauty of your surroundings, the comfortable suites where you can self cater, should you wish, the stunning pool giving directly onto the valley and where we’ve met so many really interesting, nice people, some single some not. Breakfast, served by delightful hosts Jochen and Kai, is a morning opportunity for a chat, sometimes in various languages with the other guests. Gubbio, just up the road, is full of interesting places to visit and great restaurants to eat at, indeed just like the whole of Umbria. In short, a truly fabulous break. Bellaugello is one of those rare holiday places where the reality is better than any photo can show. After a drive up through beautiful scenery you arrive at the top of a south facing mountain and see the breathtaking stunning gardens and views.... You then see your room, which may be Giardino, reminiscent of a Bronte novel or the Diva with its stylish modernist furniture.... You are SPOILED with the meals! Breakfasts are served al fresco facing the incredible view, and twice a week a locally sourced dinner from the Italian cook. But at the heart of this guesthouse is the infinity edge pool with its million dollar view of a landscape unchanged for centuries.... And with only a maximum of 10 guests it's easy to enjoy quiet days OR conversation with people from many countries. The very helpful new German owners will even shop for you so you can just stay at Bellaugello for weeks (as we did) and cook for yourself... We have been to Bellaugello three times now - and it's not just a holiday, it feels like our "Italian home"!!
