Saint Patrick's Hotel Gozo

We have just returned after staying here from 5th May to 12th May 2026. The hotel was nice and clean, although a little tired in places. It was clearly well looked after, and the common areas were kept very clean, with the tiled floors helping everything feel fresh and tidy. Breakfast each morning was adequate and suited us well. We had yoghurt and muesli every day, which was consistently available, and the coffee from the touch machine was perfectly drinkable. The breakfast room itself was light, tidy, and clean. There was no table service and everything was self service, which actually suited us very well and made things easy and relaxed. We stayed in Room 304 on the third floor. When we arrived, we upgraded to a sea view room as I need to have a window, and the internal rooms do not have one. The room itself was large, spacious, clean, and the view was absolutely incredible. Although the room was basic and a little tired, it had everything we needed. The air conditioning did not work, but as it was May and not too hot, it did not really bother us. For me, all I need from a hotel room is fresh air, a good bed, and a good shower. The shower was over a low bath and was surprisingly excellent, with great pressure and always plenty of hot water. The linen was also always fresh and clean. Unfortunately, the bed itself was one of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on. It was not that the mattress was firm, it simply had no support left in it at all and you could feel the springs underneath you. The only way I can describe it is like an old university halls mattress. If you know, you know. There was no mattress protector either, just a bottom sheet directly on the mattress, then a top sheet and duvet. The linen itself was always fresh and clean. After the first night of very little sleep, we went to reception to ask whether anything could be done, perhaps changing the mattress or providing a topper. Sadly, we were met with a firm no and told that they were orthopaedic mattresses and that nothing could be changed. This was really disappointing, as a little understanding or willingness to help would probably have meant we rebooked for our next two visits to Gozo later this year. Unfortunately, after a week of very poor sleep, it was honestly a relief to get home to a comfortable bed again. The bed bases are also solid boards rather than slats, which meant there was very little airflow and made sleeping quite hot and uncomfortable. Overall, the hotel itself was clean, well located, and had some lovely features, but sadly the comfort of the beds means we would not return.

Major disappointment with the St. Patrick's Hotel The room initially offered overlooked the interior patio. We therefore agreed to pay an extra €150 for a sea view. However, we were not informed that the balcony would be extremely small. The sheets, balcony, and welcome tray were filthy! Furthermore, the mattress was very uncomfortable. Suffering from significant back problems, this night was particularly difficult and risks aggravating my condition. Another problem: the bathroom has a bathtub. Due to my severe mobility issues with my back, accessing it is difficult and poorly suited to my needs. Overall, the room is outdated and clearly lacks comfort. Finally, we were also very disappointed by the pool area, which is more like a large bathtub, with worn-out lounge chairs and a general lack of maintenance, making it uninviting. We therefore wanted to share our dissatisfaction, as this experience fell far short of our expectations.

It’s going to be a place we come back periodically, thanks to the service and the friendliness of the team, everything was fluid, arrival, extension of the stay, and the advice. so thank you

I haven't been to the hotel, but I wouldn't recommend eating at the restaurant. This is what the burger from the kids' menu looks like.

I was there in restaurant for lunch. The glass was dirty , food salty and not cooked unfortunately. The place have amazing view around but food is horrible.

Nice hotel especially for the buffet breakfast.

A room with lots of space but little storage. Balcony overlooking the bay, pulled to sleep by the waves. To have a bath is very rare these days and much appreciated, especially as the "rainfall" shower head is fixed below head height. Staff are great and food both good and plentiful. My fear is someone will take over and modernise all the character out. Very happy to be here.

We did not stay at the hotel but we ate at the restaurant and it was fabulous. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We were not rushed, sat at the water's edge and took our time over mussels, bruchetta, and pasta/asian dishes. The wine was nice as well. I walked through the hotel lobby and common areas to go to the bathroom. Everything seemed nice, neat, and clean. Waitstaff was wonderful.

We were only at the outside tables for coffee. However we left after waiting for over 10 minutes as the waiter (who had seen us sit down) didn't come to take our order. We used to visit some years ago and the service was better then.

We stay for two days with my wife. I’m gonna remember stay in this hotel for a long time. Great breakfast with different options gluten free. Can’t forget about Incredible view ! For sure we will come back! Thank you
