Ørnen is a large, clean, nice and inviting hotel. But the location is bad. We came as a group on motorbikes and had to park in our own parking garage in the surrounding area, which is also poorly signposted. A long walk with luggage to and from the hotel. Ørnen is a hotel without access and parking in the center of Bergen. It is located in a central area surrounded by roads. Good, but expensive food. Expensive drinks at the bar. Plus for the nice roof terrace. Nice lady at the reception. The accessibility means that I do not want to go here again, and that it only gets 3 out of 5 stars. Paid just over 2000 kroner for dinner and breakfast. The breakfast was also very good! Nice rooms with large TV and good beds. Clean and spacious bathroom.

Located slightly away from the busy center of Bergen, but convenient as many public transport options available. Acceptable noice insulation (no expectation on europe’s noise insulation). When arrived for check-in, a male staff just sat lazily and indecently on high chair, glanced me few times without actively offering help; very different from the proactive staff from another Scandic hotel I stayed days ago. The male staff did not remember hotel’s breakfast time well, that he needed to double check with the post at front desk after I reconfirmed with him. NO parking at hotel as stated in Agoda, need to park at the garage in the opposite street (plenty of slow charging stations available, but never knew how I would be charged until i check out from garage; 15% off discount for hotel guest, remember to register at hotel iPad next to front desk). Information sheet for parking was available at front desk, clear instructions. The room was spacious given that I only booked a single room (two single bed aligned side by side). Broken parts of this and that were easily seen in the room. The kettle was found to still contain water from who knows how long ago, disgusting! And the kettle appeared to be dusty. There was fridge, but less cool than room temperature. The bathroom looked cozy, but found to have broken hose and conditioner. Not to mention the least broken thing was the ‘do not disturb’ sign. 1 night for 1 person costed ~HKD$1000, breakfast included. Given the high cost of living in Norway and especially in popular cities like Bergan, the price is acceptable. Maybe I should not bring Asian standard of cleanliness of hotel to Europe.

Comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff, including Portuguese staff at reception. A very complete breakfast, with a variety of hot and cold options and a section dedicated to celiacs, people with lactose intolerance, and vegans. The friendly Giselda greeted guests who were having breakfast, welcoming everyone with professionalism and competence! As it rains more than 270 days a year in this area (Bergan), the hotel offers umbrella rentals, which can be picked up from a dedicated machine. They also have bicycles that they lend to guests. (See photos of these two options). Very well located, right next to train terminals (with departures/arrivals from all over the country) and bus stations. It's a hotel close to everything important to see and visit.

I redeemed a standard room voucher for Finnair (€75 + 500 avis) in Bergen, and the experience was fantastic. The hotel's location is superb, just across the street from the train and bus stations, perfect for those with luggage who need to store it. I emailed the front desk in advance to reserve a room on a high floor, and the view was amazing, including a sunset view. There's a terrace on the ninth floor with views of the colorful houses on the adjacent mountain, the cable car, and a small waterfall, but unfortunately, the harbor isn't visible. Due to the lobby's design, some rooms have windows facing the lobby and its glass facade, but these offer views of the distant islands and straits. The mountain view rooms on the other side are also worth trying. Not all rooms have a bathtub, but the front desk service is excellent; you can email ahead to request a specific room type. The breakfast selection is extensive, even including salmon and avocado, and there are various food options for allergy sufferers in the corner. However, it seems they also cater to tour groups and group meals, so it's advisable to avoid peak breakfast hours.
