What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the Scandic Ørnen's excellent location, especially its proximity to the train and bus station, and many highlight the great breakfast with extensive choices. However, common complaints include rooms being a bit worn, with mentions of carpet smells and stained furniture, and some find the hotel to be more basic than its four-star rating suggests.

About this place Scandic Ørnen

Scandic Ørnen is a large Scandic chain hotel at Lars Hilles gate 18, next to the Grieghallen concert hall and Lille Lungegårdsvann lake on the south side of the centre. It is a mainstream hotel with no LGBTQ+ programme of its own, and it has one of the biggest review counts in the city, about 3,000 on Google at 4.3. Bryggen and the fish market are roughly 15 minutes on foot.

Good location, right next to the train station. The room is a bit worn. The carpet smells, and the chairs in the room had stains. The bathroom is a good size. Great breakfast with everything you could want. Rental bikes are available, but only with coaster brakes.

Great hotel in an excellent location, with easy access to all forms of public transportation. Although it's not right in the city center, it's only about a 10-minute walk, making it very convenient to reach the main attractions. The rooms are spacious, clean, and offer great views. However, we found the storage space a bit limited, and we struggled slightly with the air conditioning controls, as they weren't very intuitive. Unfortunately, the TV remote was missing, and the shower gel wasn't refilled during housekeeping. The breakfast was simply outstanding - excellent quality with a wide variety of options. Don't miss the brunost! We also really appreciated the dedicated gluten-free section, which even included a separate toaster. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bergen for a few days. It's a comfortable, well-located place to stay, and considering Norway's generally high prices, we found it to be excellent value for money and surprisingly affordable.

This is the third time we have stayed here and we love it. Very comfortable and accommodating. I was particularly impressed with one of the breakfast staff whose name was GISELDA! She was welcoming, friendly and particularly helpful. I would definitely stay here again

Good breakfast, centrally located hotel, just a few minutes' walk from the city center. Public parking is available near the hotel, across the main street.

Too bad we came for the restaurant. We come and bomb the restaurant again, they hadn't written it anywhere except on the door of the restaurant, so even at the entrance it says you can come in but no it's closed the WHOLE summer holiday how stupid is that? FIX IT!

It's a nice hotel, the rooms are spacious. There are wardrobes. The breakfast was good.
