What a fantastic find. A friend recommended it to me & I unreservedly do the same. Inexpensive, quirky, clean & tidy in an unbeatable location near the tube (northern line),Oxford St SoHo/Covent Garden, Leicester Sq Iand in its own little gastro-quarter it ticks all the boxes. It’s like having your own Pied a Terre in London

Love this place. This is the best place to stay in central london. It’s gay owned and managed and minutes walking distance to all the gay bars and clubs of soho. The house is so full of character and Andrew/Richard the hosts are absolutely awesome!!

FitzBB is a unique offering in central London, why? because it offers very affordable accommodation in what is a very expensive part of central London, Fitzrovia. Yes, it's true the house is old and therefore can be difficult for, say, negotiating stairs, the rooms are smallish but we knew that before we booked, the breakfasts are self serve in a communal manner, great for mingling with other guests, the only suggestion we would make is, perhaps the bread could vary! We would say you can reach anywhere in London from Fitz, it's like a hub which is one of the reasons why we stayed, easy for all London rail and air termini, you don't need a rental car when the tube stations are all around you as well as the buses, besides, London is a great 'Walk' city - you see more this way. Charlotte Street, a 30 second walk, has many cafes/restaurants/bars which we, incidentally, sometimes avoid, rather go further afield to say the new area at the back of St. Pancras/Kings Cross rail stations, 20 minutes walk or tube/bus it. The owners and staff are very obliging and good communicators. Also Fitz is a safe house and very quiet. Would we stay again - a big Yes!

The Fitz B&B is nicely situated in the central London neighborhood of Fitzrovia on a small lane called Colville Place. It's easy walking distance to the tube (Goodge St. Station) and to the theatres in the West End. There are plenty of diverse restaurants, bistros, pubs, and coffee shops that offer a cosmopolitan ambience to the area. There's also a Tesco's grocery store a block away for any essentials or amenities you may want, and there's a small park practically next door to the Fitz for a casual lunch or spending time with a book. For my 85 pounds a night, it was an excellent choice for me. There are only three available rooms, and mine was in the Oriental room on the top floor. Getting up there requires several flights of fairly steep, winding stairs with no bannisters from the second floor up to the fourth. There is a glass door at the foot of the stairs leading directly up into that room from the third floor, and I thought it a bit cautionary. A suitcase or guest who tripped on his way down from the room could easily crash into it. The room itself was quite comfortable. The queen sized bed and its pillows are highly conducive to a good night's sleep. There's an HD flat screen TV with a variety of cable channels. There's a small refrigerator for beverages and food storage that I found very useful for bottles of water and wine I purchased at Tesco. The bathroom shower has a strong, plentiful spray, and the sink and toilet work fine. There are also a wicker table and two arm chairs along with a bureau and an ample bedside table and several lamps. The closet was quite sufficient. Overall, the room was well appointed with plenty of space for two guests. I was also able to check out the room on the third floor which shares a bath across the corridor, and that also looked quite accommodating with an ample bathroom and shower. I stayed there last month in October while the regular owners were away. The two gentlemen who managed the place for them were friendly, and I was greeted pleasantly upon my arrival and given a tour of the B&B. However, once their work was done for the day, whenever that was, they left, and the guests were on their own. The one who was assigned to clean the rooms didn't show up till after 5:00pm, and my room was not touched for three of the seven days I stayed there. I must say it did not bother me to make my own bed and make due with the towels I had nor let the trash build up. However, if there had been an emergency, the guest had nobody to contact when these two gentleman were not there which was much of the time. I am sure when the owners return, the situation will be much different because they live there. The continental breakfast in the basement is do-it-yourself. There's coffee available for the guest to brew, yogurts and juices in the fridge, and fruit. There's also fresh bread if you want to make toast for yourself. I chose to buy a daily newspaper at the corner store and enjoy a good coffee at Costa's Coffee down the street. A full British breakfast is also served at several of the bistros on Charlotte Street. Despite my stated criticisms, the Pros and advantages far outweighed the Cons for me, and I'd certainly stay here again.

The rooms are great, definitely better than most hotels in the area. I stayed at the Oriental Room. Comfortable and very quiet. And the location is superb. Restaurants all around and the tube station just around the corner. The owners are very nice and helpful. Will definitely return.

Excellent value for a couple, gay or otherwise, to stay in central London. Walking distance to the Opera and shops at Covent Garden, to the British Museum and St Pancreas the Eurostar station. We chose to breakfast in one of the many nearby cafes, restaurants and pubs.

I have stayed at this secret hideaway twice and have booked 2 visits for this month and next. The 2 English owners are very friendly and you feel like your in their home which YOU ARE! Only 3 rooms so often fully booked. The help yourself continental ( well more English really! ) breakfast is laid out on the rustic table in the basement kitchen and is all fresh and well presented. It's in a pedestrian precinct and the house look very alike so I had to get the right one arriving at 7am..... Please put the number 15 on the door or wall! Ha Ha one day I will turn the front door key the right way first time! Allan in Bangkok

Fitz B&B is a beautiful, homey and comfortable place for any gay couple in the heart of one London's best neighborhoods. The owners, Richard and Andrew, are extremely accommodating, friendly and own and care for a stunning mews row house in Fitzrovia, just minutes by foot or tube from anywhere in central London. We've stayed there twice, and Fitz B&B has become our second home anytime we get to London, which unfortunately isn't often enough. Honestly, we've never felt so at home at Fitz B&B; on our most recent trip this month (August 2015), we stayed five nights, and on the way back from Germany, had only one night in London, which by time constraints, had to stay at a hotel at Heathrow. We did, however, stop for dinner in the city after getting into Stansted and felt as if walking up to Fitz B&B was like coming home, instead of having to get on the Piccadilly line back out to Heathrow. That is proof in and of itself this is a wonderful place, and almost want to keep it London's best secret for other gay couples out there. (We rated it both budget and luxury because it is truly both.)

This was our second stay here and the owners had done some work since our first visit, providing en suite facilities for all the rooms. The big bonus, apart from the very reasonable rates, is the amazingly central location. It's a short walk to various tube stops and Oxford St, Soho, West End theatres etc. and with a vast array of food places on the door step. The hosts are lovely, and with only three rooms, decorated in charming period furnishings, the atmosphere is intimate and personal. Given it's location, you can expect some street noise and like most rooms in London, they are not huge, but if you can deal with this, it should definitely be on your consideration list. Great for solo or couple stays. As a London town house, there are also some narrow tricky steps to negotiate inside! The continental breakfast is a nice bonus if you can manage your way down to the basement (mind your head!) but as mentioned there are plenty of good cafes nearby.

FitzBB is superbly located in charming Fitzrovia. Loads of atmosphere, personal, quiet, clean and relaxed. Very close to Underground, restaurants and shops. Soho: walkable. Very friendly hosts. The room in the attic catches the sun all day and has nice views.
