Casa Carolina is a boutique hotel on Calle del Arzobispado in El Centro, inside Cartagena's walled city. It's a mainstream gay-friendly hotel, not a dedicated gay venue. It averages 4.9 from nearly 600 Google reviews, which is about as strong as it gets for the old town. Plazas, churches and the city walls are steps away. Cartagena's small gay bar scene sits mostly in the walled city and Getsemaní, so you can reach most of it on foot. Old-town hotels are often converted colonial houses with small rooms and noise from the street at night, so ask about room location if you're a light sleeper.

A magical and unforgettable experience in Cartagena! Our stay at Casa Carolina exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable; the staff made us feel right at home with exceptional warmth. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the historic center and across from the Cathedral, ideal for exploring everything on foot. The facilities are beautiful, a perfect blend of colonial charm and modern luxury. Special mention for the food: the breakfasts and the restaurant's offerings are simply spectacular.
