An absolutely beautiful room. It was such a restful stay.

Cant say enough about this place. Stunning rooms, from the aromas of fresh essential oils, to the sauna and steam room, fresh crossaints daily. The rays of sunshine lighting up the room through the big windows. The in heat floor and most comfortable beds/ pillows!!! Highly recommend. 1 of the highlights of a perfect girls trip.

This place is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a retreat and reset. Every detail is thought out. I stayed in the Eastman and it was stunning. Having the spa amenities right in your own suite is by far something you will not find anywhere else. The products that were provided from their own apothecary make you feel pampered and provide a tranquil atmosphere. I will 100% be booking again.

We had an incredible stay at The Highacre. Every detail in your room is so thoughtfully laid out, and the property is beautiful. We really enjoyed the tub, the steam shower, and the fresh-baked croissants in the morning. We are already planning a return trip in the spring!

I was fortunate enough to win a free night stay at The Highacre, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the room was stunning. The bed was hands down the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The steam shower and sauna were incredible and left me feeling completely relaxed and restored. What truly sets The High Acre apart is the attention to detail. Everything has been so thoughtfully curated — from the red light mask waiting in the nightstand, to the QR code for a bedtime meditation, and another specifically for the sauna. These small touches created a deeply intentional experience of rest, rejuvenation, and total relaxation. I was also welcomed with an incredibly generous basket filled with products from their Apothe.ka store — body washes, room sprays, lotions, and more. It felt like a dream and such a special surprise. My stay was truly unforgettable, and I hope to return again. The Highacre is a gem and an absolute sanctuary. We had the coziest stay at the High Acre Hotel. Having a private steam shower and sauna right in the room made it feel like a true retreat. The bed was so comfortable and cozy — we slept amazingly. In the morning they bring eggs, jam, and fresh croissants right to your room so you can bake them yourself, which was such a thoughtful and special touch. They really think of every little detail: conversation cards, a massager, board games, pillow spray — all the small things that make you feel relaxed and cared for. The location is perfect, close to beautiful walking trails and downtown Dundas, which is such a charming little town to explore. On our way out we spoke with the owner, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. We loved our stay and will absolutely be back to try every suite they have available.

I am approaching 3 years of sobriety. It has been incredible and of course, really challenging. There was a short period where I choose to live apart from my partner while doing a lot of intense therapy. I needed a lot of rest, and time to heal. When we came back together 4 weeks later, my partner book us an a room, (the Stotnick,) at High Acre, just to celebrate us. It was one of the most meaningful nights of our relationship. So romantic. The perfect setting. We had the most relaxing, luxurious night, followed by the most peaceful night sleep. & The SHEETS! What angel spun this cloth?!? lol. Thanks for asking us to share a review. I would scream it from the roof tops. HIGH ACRE is AMAZING!

Pure heaven. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the High Acre. The house was an oasis of calm and relaxation. The attention to detail was impeccable. We enjoyed a quiet, restful weekend hanging out in our gorgeous room, hiking the local trails, and dining out in Dundas. Linda and Brett were incredibly responsive and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our stay. What a gem of a find. We will be back!

For my birthday in December, instead of a new belt or power tool, my wife Lysè gave me the gift of an unforgettable experience: An overnight “spa-cation” at The Highacre boutique inn in Dundas, Ontario. It was easily one of the most pleasant and enjoyable nights we’ve ever spent away from home. The inn is a little off the beaten track. We made the drive from our Waterloo home in well under an hour. The drive from downtown Toronto is about 75 minutes, according to Google Maps, and from downtown Hamilton about 30. It's also about 10 minutes from downtown Dundas, which is where we went for one of the best dinners we ever had, at Namu, an Asian fusion restaurant at 186 King St W. Arriving at the inn immediately set the tone. It's a beautifully restored and modernized 1867 farmhouse on a farm property, a secluded and quiet location setting that immediately set a relaxing vibe. The inn has four suites, two upstairs and two down. Each of the four suites is named for a family that owned the house in the past: the Grightmire, Stotnick, Eastman and Hudson. We climbed the stairs (no squeaks!) to our suite, the Stotnick. And how “suite” it is! The door opens onto the main living area or lounge, which is open and spacious (the suite is 650 sq. ft. in all), with lovely understated décor including interesting lighting fixtures that blend the old with the new. There’s a corner nook with a table for eating, reading or playing cards. We should have thought to bring our cribbage board! But there was plenty to keep our minds off of counting and pegging. A cabinet in the corner of the room near the armchairs contained an unexpected delight: a record player! Yes, not a CD player or internet streaming device, but an honest-to-goodness platter-tonearm-and-needle player for vinyl LPs, with built-in speakers. The cabinet also had about 40 LPs to choose from, ranging from Mozart and Beethoven to Benny Goodman to Sinatra and on into Roxy Music. It’s not high-end audio, and I wouldn’t be comfortable using it to play my own vinyl, but we played about eight records and it was a quirky and fun addition to the overall ambiance. At the foot of the firm and comfortable king bed were two comfy-cozy armchairs with a small table between them—just right for a couple of glasses of wine and a small box of chocolates. The armchairs are right in front of a remote-controlled two-way gas fireplace that kept the room toasty warm. On the other side of that two-way fireplace is the bathroom, the heart of The Highacre’s spa experience. It’s very spacious, with a beautiful white tile heated floor and a huge vanity that offers lots of room for everyone’s toiletries. Opposite the fireplace, and next to the closed-off room with the commode, there’s a big, deep soaker bathtub on a raised platform. I’m not much for baths, but Lysè couldn’t wait to get in and enjoyed her soak a lot. But the highlight—of the bathroom and perhaps of our whole trip—were the spa features. The bathroom includes an infrared sauna and a steam shower! We used both of them twice, sauna first to get those toxins a-flowin’, then the steam shower to clear our heads, with the aromatic spritzers to help. A cool shower to finish and we felt like we could take on the world! Finally, a word about the kitchen. It’s small, like an apartment kitchen, but remarkably efficient in using the limited space. It’s very well appointed, with a range, dishwasher (!) and a fridge, which comes with filtered-water pitcher, oat milk and dairy milk, and ready-to-bake croissants, which we made for breakfast and were excellent with the supplied jam. The kitchen also had many capacious drawers with all the cutlery, pots and pans, and kitchen tools (including a corkscrew!) we could have imagined. Because we visited in mid-December, we didn’t get to use the pool or other outdoor amenities, which look sublime in the website pictures. Maybe next time! And we left with every intention of having a next time. It’s not inexpensive, but this is a case where you truly do get what you pay for. A happy birthday indeed!
