Got to cook Gumbo with the owner on Christmas. It was an amazing experience, One of my favorite kitchens to be in. Great stay and I would definitely do it again!

Truly an amazing experience, not only are the rooms incredible, but host is an amazing chef, who brings warmth , joy with delicious meals, and tasteful decor.

Beautiful space inside and out, gracious and hospitable host, fun and friendly environment. Mostly quiet, calm space. State of the art kitchen. Small dogs, I had a great time staying here and came back!

I stay here regularly -- peaceful, convenient to shopping, walkable, friendly host, and an all-around good vibe. Definitely worth the stay!

When we called the establishment, the owner said that the room was fit for 3 adult guests. When we arrived and saw the room, it was evidently made for 2 people at most (1 queen bed and a small couch that would barely hold one person), but we had to make do with it. When we asked to see the bathroom, he refused to show it to us, stating that "he doesn't do tours", which is rather suspicious of an Airbnb. He was overly confrontational, and when we tried to pay him in cash and ask for change back, he was evidently incapable of doing the calculations given that he gave us back a wrong amount and argued with us until we showed him the calculation on a calculator (after which he proceeded to sigh, roll his eyes, and give us the correct amount). The room and the front door both had electronic auto-locks, but the code that the owner gave for those locks was wrong, so one of us had to be in the room at all times to ensure that we weren't locked out. The worst part about the establishment, however, had to be the bathroom. It was dirty, had hair everywhere, and had a lingering scent of dog urine (which was not good news given that he had multiple dogs both inside and outside of the establishment). The shower and bathroom had hair everywhere, including on the floor and walls. Overall, a bad experience, DO NOT RECOMMEND. Tldr (because I realize my review was kinda long): - Room smaller than advertised - Overly-confrontational owner - Broken door locks - Extremely dirty bathroom

Love the rainforest theme. It was a challenging time in my life Michael made me feel welcomed as a person from the community . He is also a chef and made the best vegetarian lunch for me and made the best breakfast towards my needs. I highly recommend you have him cook for you . I love the bully dogs and all the plants . This place is centrally located near everything in thr Bay area ans reasonably priced so I oukd stay here and see friends and family. It has all eclectic community art which is really funky and cool . I love tea and he gave me a different variety of teas in a beautiful cup .....please note I'm not a friend of Michael never met him so this review is coming from the heart ♥️

Definitely do not recommend. I am echoing a previous comment that said how not well maintained, unclean, and unorganized the place is and how suspicious the good reviews are. The owner made us wait outside for the room as if they weren't expecting us. We booked through Airbnb and the listing was under someone else's name, not the person who was there, and the two were somehow not communicating? It was very suspicious but it was late and we needed a place to stay. The police was leaving there when we arrived. While I have to say the decor of the place is really awesome and the place has a lot of potential, it was not well maintained, and the dogs made the place smell awful. There were wet pee pads all over the floor, and pieces of dog feces. My friends and I stay at a lot of airbnbs throughout the years and it's safe to say this was the most uncomfortable and suspicious we ever were.
