Do not stay here! The host was SO rude and it is a money grabbing scam. The owner refused to issue a refund due to misrepresentation on their Airbnb page.

Hotel in itself is very lovely I love the privacy but do not love the $250 deposit that seems to be new I've stayed there are a couple years ago in 2024 and never had this issue we paid online and we checked in through text this time we had to meet a receptionist at the check-in desk and pay an extra $250 on top of the 80 that we had already paid I was told the money would be refunded next day and was not now I'm trying to play phone tag to get a hold of someone to get my deposit back

The check in process was painful. I tried to drop off my bags before the 3pm check in time and sat in the parking lot with zero response after 10 minutes. An hour later I got a “you can have early check in for an extra $49”. When I returned again no fast response to enter. We dropped off our things and caught a little leftover sun at the pool to be harassed by some drunk guest, calling me names when no words were ever exchanged. I looked around to report this person and only other guests were around. We all left. At midnight I was woken up to drunk guests again being loud. The rooms were bare bones min. Would never stay here again given so many better options nearby.

We truly loved it and wanted to book again but Alex kept our deposit for no reason.

Fully incorrect hotel management: I accidentally made a double reservation, which I realised shortly and contacted the hotel to cancel. They agreed and told me to contact Booking.com for cancellation. I spent an hour talking with the customer service representative, who agreed to the cancellation and sent an email to the hotel requesting confirmation from their side. Despite our agreement, they didn't confirm this. It’s sad that the management of a decent hotel treats guests so poorly. If they didn’t want to help us cancel our double booking, they shouldn’t have given us false hope: because of that, I wasted even more time talking to Booking’s customer service for no reason.

Such a cute hotel! I really loved the vintage feel and the pool courtyard was lovely. I was quite cold at night and the blanket was really thin, and I couldn't find a way to get an extra from anyone so I was a little uncomfortable. The bungalows could be even cuter with better art and some bright paint but it was good enough for the price.

1)The bungalow was cute. (Definitely retro...could us a facelift though as tub paint was peeling, couch fabric was dirty, as were the drapes). 2) The bungalow had a nice little kitchenette. 3) There was a big back yard to the bungalow I stayed in which my pups liked. Took them for off property walks twice a day though. There is a pet deposit per pet, and you can't let them go potty in the courtyard area at all so it makes for an awkward quick trip for the out gate in the AM. 4) The location is within walking distance for a lot in Palm Springs so that was good. 5) Had to call the desk for assistance with heating (was cold in winter at night), and the wifi/tv functionality. They could have put pre-printed info in the bungalow and that would have helped. 6) I always pile my used towels, trash, and sheets by the front door when I'm done staying somewhere. Mostly helps me be sure I didn't forget anything and I used to be a waitress so I don't like to leave a mess for others. To my surprise when I stripped off the sheets the mattress pad had blood spots on it...ugh;-( I haven't had a female monthly time in 20 years so not my doing. In addition the bedding quality was not good. The pillows were flimsy, the cover was old and appeared grungy like it should be washed. 7) The windows, lamps, and heaters all needed cleaning. Seems they need to refresh and deep clean the place. 8) The front desk person was very helpful but again calling him could have been avoided by them having pre-printed info in the bungalow. 9) Pups loved the yard in back of the bungalow. 10) bungalow had all the utensils, plates, glasses, cups, needed. All in all adequate but needs more customer focus, and cleaning.

What I love most about A Place in the Sun is the community. It’s rare to find a spot where the residents are so quiet, friendly, and genuinely respectful of one another. If you value peace and a neighborly feel, this is it. ​The property has that classic, vintage Palm Springs soul. While it’s definitely ready for a fresh makeover to really let it shine, the "old school" charm gives it a personality you just don't get with newer builds. Plus, being in the heart of town means you’re surrounded by all the eclectic, vibrant energy that makes this city iconic.

We enjoyed our stay here! Very cute and quiet. Rooms were a lil dated but isn't that half the charm of Palm Springs? The room was clean, the shower hot, and the bed and linens comfortable. We liked stargazing and having coffee on our little patio, and the pool and common areas were also nice and well-kept. I'd stay here again!

I made a one-night reservation on 02/15/26 for a stay on 02/19/26 through the hotel’s direct website. I specifically booked through the link shown on Google because it clearly stated “Free Cancellation until Feb 19.” My travel plans were tentative, so that policy was the deciding factor in choosing this property. On 02/17/26, my plans changed and I no longer needed the reservation. I called the phone number listed on Google twice but received no answer. I also sent an email to the address provided on the hotel’s website. After waiting until 3:00 PM on 02/18/26 without any response, I called again. This time, I received a text message instructing me to call a different number. When I reached someone at that number and requested to cancel, I was told there was no free cancellation if you booked directly on their website and that the only option was to receive a credit for a future stay. I explained that the googe link to their website had advertised “Free Cancellation until 02/19/26,” which is why I booked. Instead of addressing that discrepancy, the representative began reading the terms of service to me and repeatedly asked whether I had proof of the advertised free cancellation. At the time, I was driving and unable to pull up the webpage. I asked to speak with a supervisor because the tone of the conversation felt dismissive and condescending. The person said they were the manager. Shortly afterward, I received an email confirming a credit. I replied to that email with screenshots clearly showing that the google link associated with their official website clearly shows "Free Cancellation until (date of reservation)" and again requested a refund. At time of writing this review, the google link to their website still shows this, and if you filter by free cancellation their official website pulls up. I sent a follow-up email as well, but more than 36 hours passed without any response before I decided to leave this review. I have worked in customer service my entire life and understand policies and procedures. However, I have never worked anywhere that refused to honor its own advertised terms or failed to respond to customer emails. I am now left with a credit for a hotel I do not feel comfortable staying at due to how this situation was handled. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
