Hampton Inn & Suites Knoxville-Downtown

4.5 stars. The staff are wonderful and very polite. There were just some minor mechanical issues in our room. Plus, being right next to a noisy street is not quite ideal.

Nope. I will not be staying here again. We were in-town for a quick weekend trip. The drunk guy throwing up outside the hotel was a warning. Location was good. Walkable. Restaurant down the street was great. But the rooms... We had a corner room on higher floor. TV did not work. Hotel said there was nothing they could do about it and they could not switch our room because the hotel was sold out. To me, this means they knew the TV didn't work. Then, you guested it: Internet didn't work. I improvised and worked from my hotspot. The mattress? I have no idea how old it was, but it was lumpy and concaved in the center. It was awful to the point where we got up and out of there first thing in the morning. I was told the hotel manager was going to call me because of our experience - nothing.

This hotel is great! At check-in Chris was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Everything worked and was clearly well-maintained. At breakfast Darla was friendly and helpful and kept everything fresh. I wish we were here longer to enjoy this lovely hotel.

Bed bugs in room No insulation on windows. Extremely loud noise from street. When complained about bed bugs during check out, I was informed by front desk rep that a manager will contact you to take the report but I never heard from anyone. There are other historic reports of bed bugs at this facility from other reviewers.

Wow. Staff at Main Street Hampton Inn saved the day, and the night! We were stranded on I-40 at 11 pm on 5/15, in dire need of shelter and a solid repair service. It’s UT graduation weekend, so this hotel was jammed. Night staff was wonderful! Not only found room for us, but upon our arrival, had compiled a list of contacts for repairs. No luck with those vendors, so Reed came to our rescue (with assistance from David), helping with the car, taking to a shop, once we found the right place, courtesy of amazing Ebony! And had a road side service curtesy of Jeremy! (More about him in a sec). Yes, hotel was full, clean and welcoming, all you would hope for in a Hilton brand, but staff was incredible, going the extra mile with a smile, even though their plates were already overflowing. The team takes on the personality of the coach. Clearly, Jeremy has set the tone for exceptional hospitality and his teamwork is dream work.

Rooms were clean, the service was good, and the location is great; no major issues! I was concerned noise might be an issue from reading reviews, but the room had earplugs and a white noise machine- I felt that the hotel did everything in its power to address the issue that was outside of its control to begin with. Just a few honest things that kept this from being a 5 star experience: 1. I wish I had been made aware of the $30/day parking fee so that I could factor it into the cost of staying. It felt a little bit "deceptive" 2. The parking garage columns are placed in a way that makes many spaces difficult, or, for some vehicles, impossible to park in. As you can see in the photo but it was true throughout the garage, no one is parked on either side. 3. The TV didn't get a great variety of channels. I realize this is small, but it does impact the experience. 4. Lastly and probably most frustratingly, was breakfast the next morning. All the food except the grab-and-go muffins and cereal boxes had been put away 45 minutes before breakfast was supposed to end. The fridge was flipped around, waffle mix gone, all of it. I would have woken up and gotten the breakfast I paid extra for, it being included, if I had known that it gets put away ahead of schedule.

Really super loud from traffic and church bells, if you stay in the side facing the main road. They even provide ear plugs and a noise cancelling machine. My bf and I slept fine and I’m sound sensitive. Well, I was wearing earplugs so I couldn’t hear that much. We were on the 4th floor (there are 6 floors) and I couldn’t hear the people above. So that’s good. The bed was comfortable and there were different varieties of pillows (soft, firm, fluffy, etc). It is a walk away from downtown. And the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Parking is $20 (I think) a day. The lot is small so if you have a big truck, hopefully you are okay driving it in small spaces. I handed the keys over to my bf so he could park the car. ;)

Great location! Nice rooms. Paid parking which I loathe, but there you go. Subpar breakfast. Great front desk folks. Super nice. A bit of city noise, but tolerable.
