Casa del Merman is the guest accommodation at GayStPete House on 5th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, Florida, an LGBTQ+-run property that also serves as a community hub. Older listings called it a gay sauna, which is wrong. It's a place to stay, not a bathhouse. The house is in a residential area west of downtown. The Grand Central District, St. Pete's main strip of gay bars along Central Avenue, is a short drive or bike ride away, and the Gulf beaches are about 20 minutes west. Check the website for the room setup, house rules and current availability before booking.

I had a wonderful stay at Casa Del Merman at GayStPete House for my 2-day birthday staycation with my Dalmatian, Oliver. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the entire stay. The atmosphere was relaxing, comfortable, and made it easy to unwind and enjoy the experience. It was the perfect little getaway, and I truly appreciated the hospitality. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Place is filthy, 1/2 inch of dirt on the ceiling fan, used dirty sponge left at sink, broken light switch, paint cracking and pealing from walls, major iron stains on tub and toilet, wall of pool covered in mold, several large pieces of plaster broken out of pool, empty box left in room on bed, blinds and window shades inoperable.
