The honest summary: With only one gay club in town, organisations do much of the work that bars do elsewhere. The centre of it all is Iskis, the LGBTI+ centre, which runs groups and brunches every week and organises Pride. Around it are a trans peer-support group, an LGBTQ+ sports club, a queer games association and two places for free sexual-health testing.
Iskis – Centre LGBTI+ de Rennes
Iskis (6 rue Saint-Martin, Parc des Tanneurs) was founded in 2001 and moved to its current premises in 2018. Its weekly drop-in (permanence) is on Wednesday evenings. Its calendar includes gay and lesbian brunches, trans, bi, polyamory and ace/aro groups, a book club, film nights and help with paperwork for LGBTI exiles. It organises the June Marche des Fiertés and, in December, the queer film and culture festival Regard(s), whose 2026 edition runs 8–13 December. Phone 02 99 33 26 08.
Community groups
Ouest Trans is a peer-support association run by and for trans and non-binary people, with regular drop-ins and transition information. GLS Rennes is the LGBTQ+ sports club, with team sports, hiking and social outings, and it organises the TIGRE tournament. Newcomers can book trial sessions. Ludiqueer is a queer board-game and role-play association that meets at Iskis. Le Refuge Bretagne offers housing and support for LGBT+ people aged 18 to 25.

Sexual health
AIDES (43 rue Saint-Hélier, near the station) does free, confidential rapid HIV and hepatitis tests and gives PrEP information. Google lists it as open on weekday afternoons except Tuesday. The CeGIDD at Pontchaillou hospital (Porte G, métro Pontchaillou) is the free public clinic for HIV and STI tests and treatment, PEP and PrEP. It is open to everyone, including visitors without French social security.
