Broken Hill Tourist Lodge

Wasn't open.

Booked for one night and the room has got enough but as i was searching for a powerpoint there was a container of food that was left under the dresser rotting away, how a cleaner would miss that i have no idea, honestly left me disgusted. went to use the sink in the kitchen to fill up my bottle and the water came out like it was pee coloured, had to go to coles to buy bottled water since i didn’t want to get sick. don’t want to hate on the place but i just couldn’t imagine what other things they cheap out on or skip during cleaning, be careful with where you look at staying.

Well priced but quite a basic place. Looks like the western side is being renovated but where we stayed was very old. But the AC was cold and the bedrooms and bed was clean and comfy. Overall good for the price paid and location.

I teally like this place and will stay again. Low key, cheap, no frills, hostel-type accommodation with spacious shared facilities. Old world feel. Has great social potential. Would be great to come back in cooler weather so everyone is not stuck in their a/c rooms! Nice pool too. Lol.

Very nice room clean and tidy Melissa is very friendly and welcoming would recommend to anyone on a budget

Never stay at the tourist lodge. Beds are uncomfortable and the manager tells you to be quiet during the day. Yet the manager talks loud. Other people kids running up the hall way and yelling and play ball. Nothing said to them to stop their children to be quiet or telling people not to stomp up and down the hall way. The place needs updating. I don't recommend the broken Hill tourist lodge to stay at

I have seen prison cells better equipped. Obviously the pictures they show were taken in the 80's.

As the old saying goes, never judge a book by it's cover. When I first arrived I thought I had made a dreadful mistake. The outside looked shabby and I was staying here for 2 nights. I had booked a room with an ensuite. The place itself is old.. but it has so much charm. The room was a bit small but it I loved it. It had been renovated a few years ago and it was perfect and clean. There's a communal kitchen which has everything you need if you want to save some dollars and not eat out at a restaurant or pub. There's so much to do in Broken Hill I ended up booking an extra 2 nights. The staff are so friendly and willing to help if you need it. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! I'm looking at coming back through that way to SA on my next trip and will definitely stay there for a night or two. If you're looking for accommodation that's reasonably priced, clean and is in walking distance to the main hub of Broken Hill, then I think you would be hard pressed to find something that offers what this place has to offer.

There is no mistaking that this is budget accommodation but for what it is, it’s fabulous! Great location, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed, hot showers with toiletries and towels provided.

If you want something simple but clean then his place was great value for money and I would stay there again

Cheap but it's ok if you need a cheap bed

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in, and we have travelled extensively. More like a back packers than a hotel, but not priced like that $180 a night !! Reception lady was lovely, certainly not a reflection on her.
