Broken Hill Tourist Lodge
Visitors frequently praise the Broken Hill Tourist Lodge for its cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, and good value for money, with some noting recently renovated ensuite rooms. However, some guests feel the accommodation has a dated, backpacker-style feel with shared facilities, and one reviewer mentioned a mix of permanent residents and travellers.

No key was left and the person responsible whose phone number was provided through booking.vom was very rude
Melissa was lovely and helpful, the rooms were inexpensive nice little rooms clean and comfortable, and included access to a community kitchen and lounge. Overall a nice little budget motel. Will definitely stay there again.
Great location central to main shopping precincts. Stones throw from the bus terminal. Plenty of cafe's and pubs to enjoy. Most are in walking distance. This is budget accomodation so don't expect bells and whistles (unless it's the fire alarm). The beds are comfortable. The rooms are tidy. The television is the perfect size for the room and plenty on TV to watch nowadays unlike the two channel options of yesteryear. Melissa is down to earth and always willing to help with any queries you might have. This has been my go to place for a while now whenever I visit The Hill.
Great place for budget travelling it is clean and has everything you need
Comfortable beds. Well catered room for Room 1 Rooms around number 35 are older and not sound proof. Friendly receptionist when present.
My recent stay at the Broken Hill Tourist Lodge, with my wife and children, was nothing short of delightful. Nestled amidst the rugged beauty of the Australian outback, this budget accommodation exceeded my expectations in every way. Comfort and Convenience The lodge boasts a spacious kitchen, perfect for whipping up a quick meal or sharing stories with fellow travelers. The free self-service laundry was a godsend after days of exploring dusty trails. And let’s not forget clean shared bathrooms and toilets, which were a pleasant surprise for a budget-friendly stay. Electric Vehicle-Friendly As an EV driver, I was thrilled to find both fast chargers (NRMA) and type 2 chargers (Thrive Medical) conveniently located nearby. Charging my vehicle was a breeze, allowing me to focus on enjoying the breathtaking landscapes around Broken Hill. Proximity to Attractions The lodge’s strategic location puts you within minutes of local attractions. Whether you’re exploring the fascinating Line of Lode Miners Memorial or taking in panoramic views from the lookout, everything is just a stone’s throw away. The Heart of the lodge: The Staff But what truly sets this place apart is its exceptional staff. Let me introduce you to two remarkable individuals: Annemarie: The warm and welcoming face at the reception. Annemarie’s genuine hospitality made me feel like an old friend. When our children accidentally locked us out, she sprang into action, ensuring our comfort and safety. Her promptness and kindness left a lasting impression. Thomas: A true gem. When he helped us unlock our room, he did so with a smile and a refusal to accept any payment. His eyes spoke volumes—genuine care and goodwill. Thomas embodies the spirit of hospitality that makes Broken Hill Tourist Lodge a home away from home. In summary, if you seek budget-friendly accommodation with a heart, look no further than the Broken Hill Tourist Lodge. Annmarie, Thomas, and the entire staff create an atmosphere of warmth and sincerity that will stay with you long after you’ve checked out.
