Palace Hotel

We had dinner after a tour of hotel. We expected the tour to provide detailed information on the hotel but what we got was a one-sided biased view of history of Broken Hill. Tour guide had obviously had too many beers prior to the tour. Cannot recommend this to anyone. Food for dinner was typical pub grub.

The person behind the bar was not personable, lacked any form of hospitality and the drinks tasted terrible. Unsure what was wrong with them but was to uncomfortable to mention anything to the person behind the bar so we left and went to the next place.

I usually drink here when I'm in Broken Hill, but unfortunately wasn't open much over the Easter break!

This place is a one off in a great way. Steeped in history with an invested owner it's a must see and in my opinion a must stay too. This is not the place to stay if you want every modern amenity but if you're after a place with soul and character with staff that care give it a go. The artwork alone is worth a visit. This is real Broken Hill

Unique experience

Visited the 'Priscilla' hotel to do the Tuesday afternoon tour. Beautiful murals, extra wide verandas that even Queensland style buildings would be envious of. Even spent time in Bernadette's room. The tour guide was quite a character but overstepped the mark on topics that really weren't necessary (political, sexuality, single mothers on welfare). The tour wasn't as fun & light hearted as it could be. I was originally wanted to stay afterwards for dinner but after that & the menu which looked average, I left.

Iconic pub stay.

Praise be to God, Amen. Go stay here. Unbelievably beautiful and salubrious old hotel. Long may it prosper

Wonderful historic hotel in a small town full of friendly people

Staying in the room where my great grandfather died 100 years ago to celebrate his life. Great people good food chilled and relaxed pub historical and original how it's all been.
